Watching | Game of Thrones
> Just finished season 4! So much better the second time around. We also saw The Hitman's Bodyguard which was funny, but we saw best parts in the trailers so it was also a bit disappointing, watch for Salma Hayek, she has a mouth in this one!

Reading | The Girl in the Spider's Web
I actually bought The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye and was all excited to read it because it's the continuation of the Stieg Larsson's series with the Lisbeth Salander character (Girl and the Dragon Tattoo, etc.) But then I noticed it was book 5. The Girl in the Spider's Web which is book 4 came out in September 2015 right when I was in the thick of putting our house on the market, so I totally missed it. Bonus reads!

I'm also super stoked to read Dan Brown's latest, The Templars which just released on Monday, I've got to find lots of reading time!

Working On | 2018.
> Mr. Misadventures and I have big plans for the blog and the business next year. We are mapping out a site redesign, content and he and I are going to work together, otherwise known as a workflow.

Feeling | Happy!
> As of Monday, I am a homeowner again! We bought a 3-bedroom home in the Valley of the Sun, otherwise known as the greater Phoenix area and I can't wait to get into it. We have a little bit of work with tile and paint before we can actually move in, but I'm super excited to have a permanent place of our own again. I haven't seen our “stuff” for 2 years so it will be really interesting to unpack.

Planning | A trip to Albuquerque
> We're heading to the balloon festival in Albuquerque the first week of October so I am getting prepped for that. There are close to one million people who descend on the city, so we are heavily strategizing our game plan.

Loving | Low carb lifesavers.
> I've lost over 32 pounds with only 2.5 pounds to go to reach my goal. There were definitely some food stars that help make my low carb high protein lifestyle easier, I call them my low carb lifesavers. Bagels and sourdough bread from the Great Low Carb bread company (they have great chocolate muffins too!), Simply Lite dark chocolate with almonds from Trader Joe's and ice cream bars from both Arctic Zero and Enlightened. The thing about these treats is that they use alcohol sugar which you subtract from the total carbs – it's the wave of the future and I hope to see more food brands using this to reduce the bad sugar content.

My Favorite Photo | Be Kind.

For more than a decade I have flipped my mental life on its head and approached life with a very positive outlook. I believe in kindness, that you should trust first and be happy. I was so touched to see these Be Kind murals all over the city on our recent weekend in Tucson, it tells me a lot about a place that promotes kindness.

  1. I’m a huge GOT fan! I have considered rewatching. Albuquerque! ! I’m so jealous! I have always wanted to go but haven’t made it yet. We were in Utah this past winter and our driver was raving about the drive down to New Mexico. I had a baby earlier this summer (my third) so we are laying low but starting to plan some ski trips for the upcoming season! Take care.

    1. @Jill, Utah and New Mexico are awesome. We decided to move to the Phoenix area because we fell in love with the Southwest, congrats on the new baby!

I’ve been diligently working out with the goal of getting down to around 215-225. I need to lose around 45-50 pounds to achieve that goal. Congratulations on losing the weight you’ve lost! It has been a long time since I’ve been to New Mexico. I have family that lives in Roswell and Ruidoso. I don’t recall ever going to Albuquerque, but I hear it’s beautiful.

  3. The balloon festival sounds like fun! Love your 2018 goals. The only thoughts I’ve had about 2018 is that I need a new planner. Lol.. I should really start planning ahead. Congrats on almost hitting your weight loss goal!

    1. @Marian, OMG planners! There are so many I don’t know which to choose, do you have one picked out?

  4. I am also a huge fan of Game of Thrones! I wrote a post on my blog about life lessons I’ve learnt from the show, perhaps you might also relate. Thanks for the heads about the Hitman movie, was thinking of watching it this week in theaters. I love reading when I have done time, I read those books a while back and perhaps I’ll get a copy of Eye for an Eye.

    1. @Nadalie, I love doing posts like that, I will definitely check yours out. I’m really hope book 4 is good!

I should really get started on watching GoT. I like your blog updates!~

  6. Is season 4 the one with the Red Wedding? If so, I need to go back and rewatch as I slept through a lot of those episodes the first time around!
Also, I had NO idea there were more Dragon Tattoo books! Whaaaat. Are those the ones they found the manuscripts for after he died? Also, whatever happened to the movies? The first one was so good!

    1. @Kristin, the Red Wedding is the second to last episode in season 3, the episode in my opinion was a dud, they should have ended the season on that scene! I know, I can’t wait to the read the books, I’m thinking that if they did #5 that #4 must have been good. On the movies, I know! Although I wasn’t sure Daniel Craig was the best actor for that role.

  7. This was such an awesome read! I loved your favorite photo too! Also, Game of Thrones, second time around was also better for me too, lol. I saw things I didn’t catch the first time!

    1. @Sapphire, me too, and I remember the storylines and how they fit together.

  8. Wow – good for you with the weight loss! I tried the low carbs for a while and it was difficult. By the way I too just discovered those chocolate bars at Trader Joe’s and they are my favorite!!

    1. @Michelle, yeah, when it comes to weight loss, you really have to find something that works for you or you will never stick with it!

  9. This post is fantastic!!! Love seeing everything you are doing and feeling. Today we had a tea party during our day to break up our homeschooling routine. It was fun! I’m hoping to start some good books soon but have been busy with writing and housework. 🙂

  10. Oh my gosh, we are totally thinking of driving to the balloon festival in Albuquerque!! My kids are on fall break that week. WE have never been but I think we might be going now!! YAY! So excited. Also, congrats on the weight loss!

  11. Congrats on the weight loss. I am currently trying to lose the 20 pounds I have put on. It sounds like I need to make a trip to Trader Joe’s! I have never heard about the alcohol sugar substitution. I am interested in reading more about that!

    1. @Shelley, you can also find it in a lot of new ice creams these days, check out Halo, Artic Zero and Enlightened in your local grocery store as well.

  12. Fall is suppose to be coming but in Western New York it is around 86 degrees. I can’t wait for pumpkin picking and decorating.

  13. Congrats on the house! I can’t believe it’s been 2 years since you’ve seen your things… where does the time go?!
