Watching | Colony, Season 2
> Who can say no to Josh Holloway? It’s been harder to get into Season 2, but I will stick with it to see one of my favorite characters from Lost. I also watched half of the newest Will & Grace season – it is like they just stopped the show yesterday, I love it and wish they would continue. I’m also a third of the way through Season 15 of Top Chef, I have been keeping the remainder for my next plane ride, which happens to be very soon.

Reading | The Longest Night
I’ve gotten back into a nice reading rhythm and was able to read 3 books this past month while starting a 4th, The Longest Night by Andria Williams. It’s about a military couple living outside of one of the nuclear facilities in Idaho. I picked it up for $0.99 when it was on BookBub or Modern Mrs. Darcy and it looks to be a good read.

I finished The Wilderness of the Sea, a cute little love story; Miss You, a fun read about 2 people who cross paths over the years; The Assistants, which was a mischievous read, if you have ever worked in an office with executive assistants you’ll enjoy it; and finally I’m not a huge SciFi fan, but Futura which is based in Pars, so I had to try it.

Working On | Old Posts
> I have plenty of site redesign “chores” so when I have a block of time I get to it. I have broken links and image links that aren’t necessary. This isn’t even the good stuff yet – SEO, but it must be done so that the new site is clean!

Feeling | In Limbo
> I turned 48 this month and honestly, it feels like I have been in my forties forever! I’m in a place where I am definitely not young (although I always get compliments that I don’t look my age) but I’m also not old. I know, weird. I generally always embrace my age, but it just feels a bit strange at the moment!

Planning | The future of Misadventures with Andi
> For nearly 10 years I have been floating along, posting 2-4 blog posts a week, growing a social media community and building a network in San Francisco. Now I need to be more focused, optimize my older content, be choosier on social and rebuild a network in the Southwest and Phoenix. I haven’t finalized my plans but it is constantly on my mind.

Loving | My new home
> We’ve been in our new house for 4 months now and I really love it. I liked our place in Berkeley too, but we constantly had to deal with neighbors. Where we live now we hear nothing, see no one (unless we go out of our way) and have space to enjoy our work. Mr. Misadventures has the office he always wanted in the kitchen. He is doing photography and getting paid, something he never expected to happen, and I love my office and workspace. We need a little decor and paintings on the wall, but as a homebody, I couldn’t ask for a better home. Pictures coming when I can get Mr. Misadventures to take some!

My Favorite Photo | Choux in Paris

Paris Odette Choux

> Despite the cold and the rain and the fact that I caught my first cold in 2 years, Paris was fun. True to my word I ate what I wanted, carbs when I wanted, including pastries. Millefeuilles, eclairs and many of these amazing choux from Odette (I highly recommend the pistachio one!) We also walked 10-15 miles a day so I actually came back 2 pounds down (although I gained them back! I’m still at a total of 40 pounds lost with our new low carb lifestyle)!

I also can’t help sharing a new photo of George who I introduced to you in December’s Currently. We took my mother-in-law (who visited us from France) to the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum and Mr. Misadventures captured George taking a stretch! We love to visit right when they open when the animals are waking up from the evening. It is such a beautiful outdoor museum and even if I always visit George, I also see something new every time I visit.

Up Next | Barcelona
> This Friday I am heading to Barcelona. It is a VERY last-minute work thing. I’ll be at a tradeshow the entire week so I will barely see any of Barcelona, but I do hope to eat some great seafood. It has been 12 years since I was last there, looking forward to the peeks I do get!

  1. George is a gorgeous cat! That photo is amazing. And I’m currently trying to catch up on all the blog things. With January being a tad slower, I’m having a hard time staying motivated to edit and fix old posts.

  2. Heather @ Kraus House Mom says:

I have also started revamping some old posts. I keep trying to read more, but I fall asleep when I read.

  3. I’m adjusting to the new routines I’ve set in place. I love having a plan, so having the day more blocked out for work, chores, and family time makes me feel successful. I may have more time on my hands to read along with you!

  4. Neely Moldovan says:

I love living in a more quiet place too! Its so nice to not hear other people 24/7!

  5. I been watching movies, some old classics. I really like pic that you captured of george yawning. Lots going on this month.

  6. Colony is pretty good. Not as good as the first season, but still watchable. Hope it doesn’t get cancelled!

  7. Wow Barcelona, sounds wonderful. I’m getting ready for moving, while I’m looking for a small fixer upper. I’d love a place that I don’t have neighbors so close that when they sneeze you can hear it. You have a lot going on, I’m just pretty quiet laying low over the winter, getting things done now I don’t want to do when it is nice out.

  8. Ahhhhhi hear you on the seo work! That’s a 2018 goal of mine! Clean up my site and omg its long and tedious work that’s for sure lol

  9. My favorite thing is to sit in the silence! We live in a quiet small town and I really enjoy it!

I remember the day your mom and dad took you home from Brookside Hospital as I was working one of the desks in ER, pregnant with my second child, Michael (going to be 48 on Feb. 25th). I sat by the door all the patients going home left by so saw you when you were 2 or 3 days old!

  11. Annemarie LeBlanc says:

I love that photo of George. 🙂 Well, currently for me, I have lots of catching up to do with my blogging and other stuff. Falling sick last month has made work pile up and although it is a bit overwhelming to get back on track, I am slowly but surely doing the best I can.

  12. One day I hope to visit Paris with you. 🙂 In the meantime, try to enjoy Barcelona! I hope it’s not *all* work.

  13. Wow, it sounds like you’ve had a very busy January. For me January is the month I always like to snuggle up i the house and stay warm.
