Watching | Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce & The Crown
> Along with finally getting out to see a few movies (Justice League, Geo Storm, and Thor), I ‘ve been catching up on a few series like Longmire (love that Wyoming cowboy!), Girlfriends Guide to Divorce (those women are train wrecks) and of course The Crown! My beloved Top Chef started its 15th season (yes!) but I am saving those episodes for the plane ride to Paris.

Reading | Stories I'd Tell in Bars
I finished The Bonjour Effect which I highly recommend if you are a francophile or going to spend a lot of time in France or with French people. The most important thing to remember is never starting ANY conversation in France without saying Bonjour! I also finished David Lebovitz's L'appart which further confirmed that I would never build or remodel a home in France!
I started reading Profit First by Mike Michalowicz (famous for The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur) but it is a pretty serious read so every few chapters I pop over to a book by one of my all-time favorite authors Jen Lancaster, Stories I'd Tell in Bars. Each and every one of her books has found me snort laughing many, many times and I cannot resist her!
Lastly, as you know some of my blog posts can get rather prolific, especially when I am passionate about the topic, which is why I really enjoyed this well-researched and well-written article from Well Being Secrets, 25 Science-Backed Health Benefits of Traveling. I believe travel opens up the mind and heart and I love that it is healthy as well!
Working On | My 2018 Plan
> The site redesign will launch in early 2018 and I could not be more excited. I am working with Mr. Misadventures to map out our editorial calendar and travel content for the year. We've got trips coming up, recipes in development and a big need for an overarching monetization strategy.
Feeling | Disappointed
> I just returned from a week in San Francisco. It was work related so I was unable to see most of my friends and former colleagues whom I would have loved to spend time with. Except for one dinner with some special ladies which was (a) super expensive and (b) absolutely nothing to write home about, San Francisco was disappointing. It is still a beautiful city in parts, but its problems of overcrowdedness, homelessness, and expensiveness leave me feeling disappointed and I could wait to “come back home.”
On the other hand, in less than 10 days I will be in Paris!
Planning | To explore more of Phoenix
> As soon as the holidays are over my new mission in life is to get to Phoenix a whole lot better. I will be looking into more of the culinary scene and learning more about what the city has to offer.
Loving | My job
> It seems like social media has been around forever, but in reality, there are many aspects of social marketing that are in their nascent stages and it's exciting to be working in influencer marketing as well as learning more about advocate marketing. They are definitely the wave of the future (which has already begun).
My Favorite Photo | Afternoon light
Besides the photo of George the mountain lion, one of the inhabitants at the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum which Mr. Misadventures captured on Thanksgiving, I'm sharing the gorgeous afternoon light that it's our front room. All of our furniture is finally in place, we are just missing a few area rugs and small pieces of decor and wall art to make the room complete. We are pleased we could blend our modern style with the Southwest. I will be doing house photos in a post in 2018.

What is CURRENTLY going on with you?
The books sound great and I will be sure to always start the convo with Bonjour with the French although I doubt I will run into any haha. I have not heard of those shows before but will have to check them out now. Sorry about your rather expensive get-together. It could have been at least exciting huh? Not much going on here but I do agree with you about social media. Riding the wave!!
OMG I love the Crown and I’m so glad season two is here! I haven’t seen Girlfriends Guide to Divorce, but I’ve heard it’s funny from some and thinking about checking it out. BTW, I love the color on the back wall of your front room and that couch!
Sounds like a busy life, good to know of those shows/movies. I haven’t watched any of those yet
I love the show The Crown on Netflix! One of my favorites for sure. I hope they make many seasons.
My husband and I also love to watch Top Chef together – he dreams of becoming a professional chef. (I dream of all the food he will make me, LOL)
Great post on how we can keep up with you and get to know you better! I thought that photo of your front room was from a magazine. It is absolutely gorgeous! Perfection!
Your house looks lovely. Love the furniture & the blue tape of the rug outline.
With you on San Francisco. Such a beautiful city but struggling under the ridiculously expensive weight of its own size and popularity. I see that happening a lot through California – which is why this California girl is perfectly happy in Virginia. I will have to pick up Stories I’d Tell in Bars – it sounds fantastic!
Looks like you have been busy!! Same here. so much going on. I am excited for 2018 for many reasons. But like you I am redesigning my website as well. I am so excited. Happy December!
It sounds like you have a great life., getting to travel and do what you like to do. Your home looks very modern and neat. I have an older house and it has more of a cozy look.
What an interesting post! I can say in terms of work, that I am loving my job! I wa a french teacher in Canada and recently moved to Italy, and now I’m teaching yoga!
I love having a relaxing moment to watch and catch up on shows. It’s the perfect time of the year during the holidays! I will have to start watching them once I finish my current shows!
I can understand with the disappointment in San Francisco. It is quite beautiful when you are there. But it has gotten over crowded in recent years. And they really haven’t figured out what to do with the homeless. I know you don’t want to kick anyone out. But you need to figure out a way to help these people in a reasonable way that keeps the streets and the homeless safe.
