RV Travels: Weekly Wanderings #18 – Yellowstone

YELLOWSTONE-National-Park-Bear

Yellowstone has been glorious! My favorite week since we started Project Escape.

May is an exceptional time because of all the babies and the post-winter feeding. Usually, after about three days of super early risings, I call uncle and let Mr. Misadventures go on his own but it is so exciting to see the wildlife that it offers its own form of adrenaline and I haven't been too tired. Although we have been going to bed early. The hubby realizes he can't have both sunsets that get us back home after 10 PM and 4 AM wake-ups for sunset/wildlife. Wildlife has taken priority.

Given the park is so vast and everything is far, we pack breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner depending on what we are doing because otherwise, we'd starve! Leaving the park takes hours! We drove over 200 miles inside the park each day. And that was sticking to the north and west (and a tiny part of the east).

Posts coming next week on Grand Teton (the most beautiful park) I've been in and Yellowstone (the most everything else!).

Today we are making a mad dash to Phoenix. It's going to take us three days of driving to get there. Not fun, but we'll power through.

We're dropping off the RV and Jessica in the care of my parents and heading for Lisbon where we'll be boarding a Viking River Cruises cruise between Lisbon and Porto.

I for one and looking forward to the food. Our RV eating is getting old. I recognize that I was completely spoiled working in San Francisco with practically every cuisine in the world. I miss the variety and the accessibility to those foods! Portuguese food will be a nice change of pace.

That’s it for this week’s adventures! You can keep up on the real-time adventures on Instagram.

RV Q&A

Thanks to everyone who completed my annual reader survey! (I'm still collecting responses if you'd like to participate!) A couple of people responded to the question about what you want to see more of, asking for more content about RVing.

Happy to share more.

What would you like to know about the RV, RV life, etc.?

Current location:

Grizzly Yellowstone RV Park, West Yellowstone, Montana.
Heading to Fillmore KOA in Utah tonight. Seligman KOA in Utah Saturday night.
