J’adore #1

I love this little blogosphere of ours. Its citizens are full of color and character. It never ceases to amaze me and I am thankful. Thankful to people like Julie Roads (of Writing Roads) a good friend and hostess extraordinaire.
She is the perfect little ambassador introducing bloggers as if she was at a cocktail party with a tray in hand, she leans over and whispers in your ear, “you see that blogger over there? I think you'll love her/him, go check them out.”
Some posts on this site contain affiliate links, meaning if you book or buy something through one of these links, I may earn a small commission (at no extra cost to you!). Opinions are always my own and I’ll never promote something I don’t use or believe in. Also as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Turns out she was right again. She steered me toward Susie, an ex-TV producer who left the big city to start a farm, Juniper Moon Farms to be exact. She raises sheep and goats to produce yarn that she sells. She has also created the first Yarn CSA (like a co-op), pretty cool, huh?
She has a blog called Fiber Farm where we city boys and girls can live vicariously through her efforts. I have watched chickens eat watermelon (love that!) as well as lingered over photos of her newest additions. But some of my favorite posts are what Susie calls, “probably something you would like” where she highlights things that she likes that she thinks her readers may like as well.
I enjoy them so much that I have decided to do similar posts from time to time. Susie has graciously given her consent to borrow her idea. Of course, I have to add a little French twist hence the title, “J'adore!” And this first edition is dedicated to Susie!
I have written about this product before. I have the original WWII England slogan, “Keep Calm and Carry On” in red in my office. I have seen the “Keep Calm and Blog On” version as well. But I just found out there is an entire store filled with a variety of phrases, something for everyone. And of course, my new favorite is this one:

I love classic fashion. I want Audrey Hepburn's entire wardrobe! I also love simple jewelry (although I don't wear any) like Tiffany's. So when I saw recently that they are now making a line of handbags, I had to check it out. My favorite line is the Holly Clutch inspired by Ms. Hepburn herself:

I am going to have more on A Slice of Delight when the owner, Hilary comes back from her summer in France, but I wanted to share her products. I ordered several of them when she was running her pre-vacation sale. When they arrived at my office the box smelled like heaven!

Last week my husband and I finally ate at Chez Panisse, a restaurant on my “must eat before I die” list. The meal was really good, but not over-the-top exceptional. I am glad I went, but will not be going back.
To end our meal we decided to share salted caramel ice cream and it could not hold a light to Jeni's. I was in shock and in awe! It is absolutely the best ice cream I have ever had in my life. TRY IT!

That's it for the first edition of J'adore! Hope you enjoyed it!
I think its time to nominate Andi for mayor of blog-land!
