Watching | So Much Good Stuff!
> We got the new Disney+ channel for 24 hours and watched the first 3 episodes of The Mandalorian – I really liked it but was unclear if it was just the 3 episodes or if there would be more. Turns out it is 10 episodes so we will have to figure out a way to watch it without permanently paying for the Disney+ channel (as I am not much of a fan of Disney except the Marvel franchise). With the purchase of new iPhones, we have Apple tv+ for a year and have been devouring The Morning Show. The acting is fabulous, in particular, Billy Crudup who steals every scene he is in! We watched season 3 of The Crown which we were very disappointed by, didn't like how the episodes stitched together, didn't like the actors as much. I am also in season3 of This is Us trying to only watch a few episodes at a time to make it last!

Reading | Business Books
> I didn't have much time for personal reading this month. I read a book for a business meeting instead. I have picked up my blogging friend Dining Traveler's new book (yay!) The Dining Traveler Guide to Puerto Rico and pre-ordered my friend Lindsey's book The New Parisienne: The Women & Ideas Shaping Paris which will come out in April. Her first book, The New Paris, was really good and I consider it a must-read before visiting Paris. I have also very impatiently waiting for Older, but Better, but Older: From the Authors of How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are which I pre-ordered a while back. It comes out on December 30th – so you know what I will be doing that day!
Best Bite | Banana Zucchini Muffins
> In J'adore #82 I mentioned a cookbook called Super Low Carb Snacks from Martina Slajerova (I also mentioned her other book Keto All Day Cookbook in J'adore #81). Mr. Misadventures has been using Martina's zucchini muffin recipe and modified it a bit and started making lots of different varieties of muffins. Like orange and cranberry, blueberry, blueberry and lemon, blueberry and chocolate, but the pièce de résistance has been chocolate banana walnut ones. I have always loved my mom's (and grandmother's) banana bread, I think I mentioned before that I used to ask her to make and mail it to us when we were on the road with the RV. But once we went low carb it was totally off the table. Now I can get something that tastes just as delicious and it is low carb – I am a happy camper! Bravo Mr. Misadventures!
Working On | Getting a Podcast Started
That's right, I am jumping on the podcast bandwagon and getting my series started next year. I want to prepare a whole bunch of stuff – including content – before I launch it, but it will be coming in 2020. Thankfully I have a little experience with running a podcast at my last job, I will be launching a podcast at my new job and I have friends who are running shows. Lots of people and projects to lean on. I'll tell you more as I move more chess pieces around the board.
Feeling | Ready for 2020
> I am 5 months into the new job but absolutely love it. Feels like home with a great team and a great boss. 2020 will be a big busy year for me professionally and I am ready! Don't worry, the blog isn't going anywhere – I couldn't survive without my passion project! I look forward to new travel and repeat projects with brands I love working with – like Chico's and Jambu!
Planning | A Move!
> That's right! I'm pleased to officially announce that Mr. Misadventures and I have sold our house in Phoenix and are moving to Raleigh, North Carolina. By the first of February, we will be living in the Raleigh-Durham area! I actually suggested moving to Raleigh before I even got my new job. The last company I was working for, Cisco, has a large office in the RTP area and I was hinting to Mr. Misadventures that it might be a good idea to move there. Phoenix is beautiful from a landscape perspective, but we missed out tech tribe and Raleigh has it in spades. The job market is good along with the real estate market. When I got my new job at Red Hat, which is headquartered in Raleigh, that sealed the deal. I have been back there a few times for meetings and Mr. Misadventures came with me on a trip as well, and we both love it. So…we have to close on our house, find a new house, or a place to live while finding a new house – all in the next 6 weeks – wish us luck!
Loving | My New Illustrations!
> I have always been a huge fan of illustrations and have often worked with friends to develop illustrations for posts that I have written in the past. The Misadventures with Andi header that I had for about 6-7 years was an illustration drawn by a friend. But my friends who had drawn for me in the past have busy lives and careers and sadly couldn't continue to do work for me. But if you haven't noticed of late, I am working with a new illustrator, an Arizona local even, and I am loving her work – I hope you are too as I have gotten a lot of compliments on my recent Paris and France posts where Lindsey's work can be seen.
My Favorite Photo | I Believe in Raleigh!
Mr. Misadventures actually took this photo in October, but I have been saving it for when I let y'all know I am moving to Raleigh. This is mural behind Sola Coffee – a great coffee spot in North Raleigh. One of our favorite things about Raleigh is the coffee, in particular, Counter Culture coffee, a roaster I introduced you to a long time ago in San Francisco when Coffee Cultures opened in the Financial District in San Francisco.
That's my month, what's CURRENTLY going on with you?
Like it? PIN it!
Looking forward to this podcast! Should be fantastic!
I love reading these types of posts! I’m always looking for a new book to read!
looking forward to your podcast so interesting girl!! thanks for sharing
I am really looking forward to this podcast! I love these kinds of posts!
It sounds like a great month full of good things! I am going to check out some of the things you mentioned!!
Okay, I’m not the biggest fan of The Mandalorian or Disney+, but my hubby and oldest kiddo are. The Morning Show is a different story! Billy Crudup’s acting is marvelous in this show. He’s now my favorite on the show even though I started watching it because of Aniston, Witherspoon and mostly Carell.
Hubby has been doing an awesome job on keto, but he had to take a break during his surgery and recovery. Now that he’s getting back to it, I think I’ll join him after ordering the recommended cookbook.
Hi Andi, love seeing your news! Congrats on the new job and move to Raleigh N.C (a place I’d love to visit sometime, please do a blog!). I’ll be looking out for your podcasts in the new year. Much love and continued success in 2020!
