Phoenix broke me. No surprise that it is hot there. During the summer, even with the air conditioning on, it was hot at night. Ever since then, I have become a hot sleeper. Hot, sweaty, uncomfortable. It took me a while to realize that I needed to change everything – sleepwear, sheets, duvet – everything in order to get a good night's sleep.
I decided to put together a list of products that I have tried to share in case you are a hot sleeper too!

LuuF Cooling Pillow
[Gifted] This. is. a. GAME. CHANGER. This was the last thing I tried/changed and it should have been the first! Heat rises and it leaves the body through your extremities, like your head, duh. (That's why we are supposed to wear a hat in the winter…) I didn't know cooling pillows were a thing until I discovered LuuF Cooling Pillow.
Cooling pillows are pillows that are infused with materials that help draw heat away from your body. They wick away moisture, dissipate heat and promote increased airflow. The result? They lower the temperature around my head, neck, and shoulders so I can fall asleep faster.
My LuuF Cooling Pillow is amazeballs!
Cozy Earth Boyfriend Sleep Dress
[Gifted] Fabrics made with bamboo are naturally hypoallergenic, breathable, and moisture-wicking. Plus they are sustainable and softer than cotton. When I first realized I had become a hot sleeper, I researched what my options were and the first thing most people said to do was switch to sleepwear made from bamboo. And that is exactly what I did.
I have a different pair for every night and I am constantly trying new ones. I decided to try the Rib-Knit Bamboo Boyfriend Sleep Dress from Cozy Earth. When it arrived it was so long (I am 5 feet, so it falls below the knees on me) and heavy that I thought, “there is no way this is going to be cool to sleep in.”
Turns out I was wrong! It is super soft and stretchy. The moisture-wicking fabric (rib-knit viscose) is breathable and feels cooler than I expected.
Cozy Earth Bamboo Linen Sheets
[Gifted] Now let's talk about these sheets! Sheets are important too, but it took me a while to change mine. We have so many sheets from Switzerland that I resisted changing. But we finally bit the bullet and started using Cozy Earth's Bamboo Linen sheets and we changed our duvet cover too. These are LUX-urious!
I am big on the little details and Cozy Earth pays attention. My sheets arrived in beautiful reusable tote bags that I know use for groceries! But the sheets! They are a combo of linen and bamboo so they have all the benefits of being breathable and moisture-wicking, but do not pill like a lot of pure linen sheets do. I love these sheets!
Magic Weighted Blanket
[Gifted] Seems counterintuitive that a weighted blanket would be cooling. As a hot sleeper, I was worried that the weighted blanket I was using during the winter would be suffocating once summer came around. But the truth is, this isn’t necessarily the case. Weighted blankets can be temperature-regulating.
The most important thing to consider is the fabric. A good weighted blanket for hot sleepers is one that is made with breathable materials. It should be breathable, and moisture-wicking which will help control body temperature.
Lunya Sleep Masks
Mr. Misadventures and I stream movies or TV series at night and I always go to sleep before the hubby. I can't sleep if the room isn't dark so I have been using a mask for 18+ years I have worn a sleep mask.
I sleep with a Lunya sleep mask that is made of washable silk. Silk has a natural cooling effect so wearing the mask doesn't make me any hotter. And I can throw it into the washing machine weekly to keep it clean! At $50, it might seem expensive, but after having it for 6 months, it has paid for itself.
Bladeless Neck Fan
[Gifted] I have worn The “W” Fan! to bed at night to cool off while watching TV! And when the power went out for 10 hours a few weeks ago and we had no A/C.
If you're someone who struggles with staying cool during the night, I hope that this round-up offers you some hope. Other items that can help along with these for even deeper and more restorative sleep are white noise machines, a full-body wiggle pillow, and satin sheets.
These are some of the best products to keep you comfortable all night long. You can say goodbye to hot nights forever by switching out your pillow, sheets, pajamas, etc. And if you know somebody who is always battling the heat, be sure to share this post with them so they can get relief too!
How about you? Are you a hot sleeper? Do you have another product that helps you? Do share!
