Frenchie Finds June 2021
If you are looking for ideas for Father's Day gifts for Francophiles, I've got you covered. Even if you aren't looking for something for la fête des pères, but have a France lover or Frenchie wannabe in your life with a graduation day, a birthday, or another special occasion event, these will work for you as well! You really don't need a holiday to buy your favorite Francophile a little something, something, trust me, they will be “très content” with any of these gifts.
Now onto this month's French Finds! Always stuff you need, things I love!
Pour les papas
Saint James Mariniere Shirt
I don't just love mariniere shirts for myself, but also for men! One of my favorite brands, Saint James has this gorgeous one that is very similar to one I just bought for myself!
Kerchief by Cantonment
Men wearing scarves is very common in France and I love this line of kerchiefs from Cantonment (like the Swiss canton perhaps?). They are very manly with illustrations from cars and music and watches and are unique. I like their “woggles” which hold the scarf in place!
Mon Papa Book
This book from Anthony Browne celebrates mon papa à la française. Francophile dads can read it to their kids and start the next generation of Frenchies!
Vie de papa Coloring Book
Vie de papa is a really fun coloring book dedicated to all things dad-related with lots of fun pages to color together!
Vetements (Clothing) + Mode (Fashion)
Boden – Corsica Bikini Top – French Navy
I used to buy from Boden all the time but then stopped while we were RVing and never re-started after our trip. They have always had great clothing, but I am currently digging n their swimsuit separates. The Corsica bikini top – French navy (bien sûr) is really cute. And I like the pairing with the Amalfi fold-over bottoms also in French navy with a white polka dot is perfect!
Albion – Hang Ten Game Changer Swim Crop Top
You know me and my blue and white stripes. If there is a striped shirt, I am on it! That's why I love this swim top from Albion which I would sport with a solid blue bottom,
Macon et Lesquoy Embroidered Brooches
I have been wearing a jean jacket a lot lately while working in my home office. It is easy to slip over just about any top and still looks good. I want to change up the look a bit by adding some fun and I have found these Macon et Lesquoy embroidered brooches to do the trick BUT I cannot decide which one of ones, they are ALL so cute!
- Frenchy T-Shirt
- Croissant
- Baguette + Camembert
- Street Sign
- Eiffel Tower
- Taxi
- Wine
- Paris Snow Globe
- Resistance
- Smallmouth
- Amour
Paris by Night Bracelet
I am not big on jewelry but I love the simplicity of this bracelet from Titlee. It has an adjustable waxed cotton cord, with gilded brass Eiffel Tower and star.
Pour la Maison
Paris Art Print from Fy!
I love the home decor products and prints on Fy and this beautiful Paris print from artist Sabina Fenn is lovely. It is painted with water-based inks on sustainably sourced paper so you can feel good about hanging it on your wall as well. You decide the print size you want et voilà!
Paris Mug – Marks & Spencer
One can never have enough coffee mugs, especially when they are as cute as this Paris one from M&S! It has the Louvre, Moulin Rouge, and other iconic sites on the backside.
Monogram Nails from Anthropologie
I saw these cute monogram letters on sale at Anthropologie and immediately thought about creating the word PARIS. I also think ANDI would be cool too! What would you spell?
Livres (Books)
Books make the perfect gift for francophiles, I love books set in Paris or about Paris or French life and foods. Here are NEW releases that your Francophile friends and/or family member may not have yet:
- Dinner in French by Melissa Clark offers a contemporary approach to 150 French classics.
- The Nine: The True Story of a Band of Women Who Survived the Worst of Nazi Germany by Gwen Strauss is a gripping story of 9 women (all under 30) who escaped a prin camp, joined the Resistance, and eventually make it back to Paris.
