Watching | Guardians of the Galaxy.
> Summer movies have started and I am thrilled! We just saw Guardians and will catch the latest Aliens. There are so many movies coming out, it's my favorite time of year for movies. I also caught up where I left off on season 7 of The Vampire Diaries (don't laugh) and am ready to start season 8. That won't happen until I'm on a plane heading for Indy for BlogHouse.

Reading | Books!

> After a two-month dry spell, I read 4 books in 7 days. Just stick me by a pool and I'm a voracious reader. I was so excited and proud to read my Parisian pal Lindsey's new book, The New Paris which I devoured along with a travel blogger memoir, a memoir about 24 hours in the life of a Sous Chef and the next in the series from my beloved JD Robb. Seriously, if you are not getting daily emails from BookBub or The Modern Ms. Darcy you are missing out. I bought Sous Chef for practically nothing the day it was featured and it is now selling for full price on Amazon.

Working On | The Job Search.
> I'm still plugging away at this nearly every day. It a numbers game with a little bit of luck thrown in. Send me good vibes – and job prospects if you know of any senior level marketing (digital, content, social media) jobs!

Feeling | Confined.
> As I mentioned in my Project Discover #14 update, staying a week in a roomy condo while we were in Kauai highlighted the fact that the RV is feeling a little confined at the moment. I don't have the most ergonomic set-up and the wifi is terrible! Plus I miss a real kitchen.

Planning | A Road Trip.
> We are missing our friends in the San Francisco Bay Area, so we are planning a quick trip down in early June. We'll drive from Portland to the city something I haven't done in about 30 years!

Loving | Warmer weather.
> The three days we had this week of sunny skies was awesome. I am very focused on the lifestyle (diet and exercise) changes we are making and an important part of that is daily exercise. Hard to do when it is raining sideways! I'm hoping we will see a lot more sunny days soon!

My Favorite Photo | Poolside.

Kauai

> It's been a long time since I had a vacation in a tropical spot and did absolutely nothing. I couldn't tell you much about Kauai except that it is beautiful and that the tuna poke is damn good. I spent a lot of time relaxing under this tiki umbrella and in the pool.

What is CURRENTLY going on with you?

  1. Just saw Guardians this weekend — not bad for a sequel. Though I’ll admit I’m pretty sick of all of the comic movies. I’ve been studying screenwriting lately and these are all so formulaic, they run together in my mind. While it’s great to go get entertained by a mindless action blockbuster, it’d be nice to see a break-away from the comic routine and move on to some less-charted territories!

    1. @Katie, we are getting a little over-saturated on the comic movies, although I for one cannot wait for Wonder Woman who was one of my childhood heroes.

  2. What an amazing May you have planned!! I haven’t seen a movie in the theaters in YEARS, not since having kids. I am Add to definitely looking forward to when they are grown up and I can go explore the country and have the freedom to do what I want again. 🙂

    1. @Lauryn, I understand that kids can be a constraint, but they give you a different sort of blessing.

I love sitting by the pool and reading. I just get right into the story and the fresh air is great. It sounds like your life is very busy. I wish you well and safe travels. Thank you for sharing

    1. @Linda, reading makes you slow down, which is something I really enjoy.

  4. We saw Guardians of the Galaxy and we loved it, maybe better than the first one, and we just bought the dancing baby groot, because it is so cute.
I want to wish you good luck on your job search. I know it can be difficult but I hope you find a job that pays well and makes you happy.
I am also planning a road trip. I am thinking either Colorado or Arizona. I want to skydive over the Grand Canyon. Have fun on yours.

    1. @Monica, there’s a baby Groot? I must have one! We RV’d in Arizona and Colorado and really enjoyed, those are perfect road trip states. Good luck with the sky dive!

  5. Oh, my word…I am just starting at that picture looking up at the umbrella and palm tree, feeling like I am at the beach! Summer can’t get here soon enough! So fascinated by the RV lifestyle, and hope to read more about it here. Best wishes on the job search!

    1. @Kristi, those are my favorite kind of vacations even though I rarely take them! Texas is a great state for RVing, we stayed at a beautiful park in San Antonio. Peeked over at your blog, love the design!

  6. We will be travelling soon and I have started a reading list for books I want to bring. Looks like I now will add a few more thanks to your recommendations. Good luck with the job search. Hope the perfect thing comes up soon!

  7. We watched Guardians of the Galaxy 2 last weekend. Funny we got a huge discount on our cinema ticket because it’s already the third week of showing. We also had free drinks and snacks in the theater.

  8. I like making monthly plans activity too. To make sure I won’t missed any festivals or local activities in our area. So far my family were just busy in our vegetables/fruits garden so we can harvest our crop on time. We do lots of hiking and sight seeing as well. Basically more on relaxing our backyard and enjoying the warm weather.

  9. I’ve been looking for my next book to read and can’t wait to pick up a copy of 24 hours in the life of a Sous Chef. I’m so jealous of your fun road tip next month. There’s truly nothing better. And you’re so right about warmer weather. I’ve been so excited to be able to get out and go for my afternoon walks again!

    1. @Ali, the Sous Chef book is FASCINATING! It’s amazing that these people are so dedicated to cooking – the 18-20 hour very physical days are insane – the only way to do it is if you love it!

  10. Oh, I watched the Alien movie just recently and it’s like the good ol’ Alien movies — bet you’ll love it! Let me know how it goes for you 😀 And also, good luck on the job search!

    1. @Aileen, I saw it yesterday and wowza it was pretty good. It can still make me jump!

  11. I GOTGVOL2 it was awesome, but this month I have so much to get down I’m exhausted thinking about. I hope your job search is successful.

    1. @Ra’Nesha, it was so funny, can’t wait to see what they do with all those great actors in Volume 3 (if they’re doing one!) – love the addition of Stallone and Ving Rhames!

Watching a lot of netflix lately, almost caught up on narcos.
