RV Travels: Weekly Wanderings #49 – Surprise AZ
Merry Christmas Eve!
The BIG day is tomorrow. Months of shopping and prepping and planning will be over. I for one will be happy to see it go although to be honest, I have been out of the realm of retail madness for the last few weeks. I'm not one for the holidays and I would like to be able to go to Target without facing a madhouse!

We left Elephant Butte last Saturday, stayed a night in Tucson and arrived in the Phoenix area on Sunday. We spent two and a half days visiting with my parents and then did personal errands including grabbing stuff from our storage unit and winterizing the RV a bit. Cold weather seems to be everywhere including Portland so we are getting ready for it!
We went to see Rogue One, which I enjoyed. I'm both a Star Wars and Star Trek fan so I like to see the story expand and continue.
We were supposed to leave for the Palm Springs area on Christmas Day, but we finished everything we needed to do so we hit the road today and got a one day jump on our Joshua Tree trip. We're staying two weeks to thoroughly enjoy both the north and south ends of the park.
Last January we were planning a few trips there but were so enamored with Borrego Springs we never got there.
It looks like we might have a white Christmas after all. We took a quick ride to Joshua Tree and it was beginning to snow at Keys View which is at 5000 feet elevation. It's 45 degrees now in Desert Springs/North Palm Springs, so it might cold enough in the evening for it to happen!
Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas weekend!
