Currently December 2016
Currently | 12.27.16
This is the latest (in a month) I've ever written a Currently post, but I am determined not to miss a month. This is my 27th consecutive Currently!
Watching | Un Village Français
> We totally got sucked into this French historical series (A French Village in English). It takes place during World War II in occupied France, each season a different year of the war starting in 1939 and it's fascinating to see how the world and domestic events affect a small village.
Reading | The Perfume Collector by Kathleen Tessaro.
> I read ten books this past month! Lazy days in Key West definitely contributed to that. I read a few series, not necessarily long novels. However, now I am sucked into The Perfume Collector, a story of two women taking place in New York, Paris, and London. The women never met, but one woman impacts the other's life in a very significant way, I am less than 100 pages in and I am totally intrigued!
Working On | Finding good weather.
> All these winter storms and cold weather fronts are seriously impacting our plans to make our way to Portland by February 1. We have been planning and re-planning and it seems we are going to have to be very spontaneous and play it by ear – tough for two Type-A planners!
Feeling | Rested.
> It's not a feeling that will endure since I will be jumping back into work in the next few months, but I am going to enjoy the feeling while I can!
Planning | The future.
> I have been peeking in on the job market in Portland and visualizing my resume and the types of opportunities I would like to seize.
Loving | Seeing Blue.
> We have spent many, many months in red states and it's nice to be back in the blue!
My Favorite Photo | Boots on the sand.
> What a difference ten months makes! We visited White Sands National Monument in February and it was in the 30's – freezing! In December, it was 70 degrees the day we went and it was wonderful to plop myself on the hard cool sand and study the intricate designs the wind makes in the sand.
What is CURRENTLY going on with you?
I wish I had more time on my hands to be able to read more books! I have a reading list for the first quarter of 2017 and I hope I will find success in reading everything on my list! BTW, those sand patterns are awesome. Amazing what nature can do!
I’m definitely feeling rested too!! Oh, the glories of Winter vacation! <3
Currently, I'm sitting in 65 degree weather, waiting for my sister to hurry up so we can go get our nails done.
I’m impressed with the number of books you’ve read! My Demember was busy with travel but I finally have the chance to relax.
That bookis on my to read list too. Cant wait to start it hopefully this weekend
Nothing big going on at this given moment really. I’m almost 27 weeks pregnant with my 4th, but nothing new has occurred.
You’ve read a lot of books! That sounds cool! I wish I can also read books and I’m still finding time for that.
Other then freezing I’ve been attempting to keep up with my blog–catch up on reading (although 140 books this year is not bad-I was trying for 150. ) I guess I/m just trying to make it through this year and mentally prepare myself for my bookkeeping clients to converge—payroll quarterlies, year end stuff etc AND trying to convince myself to start working on MY taxes!!
Well it seems you are enjoying life wishing you a great new year and that you continue having a rested and peaceful time. Happy new year!
I’m resting now and plan to use my time a bit differently this year. Love that photo you used.. Happy 2017!
Just catching up from holiday travels… the boots on the sand photo isn’t showing up! I’m intrigued by the series you’re watching — did you have to buy it? Adding the book to my wish list. 🙂
@Katie, weird the image shows for me. Regarding the series, we employ a variety of methods to watch them: Netflix and Direct Now when we can stream, Amazon Prime as well. For the French ones Netflix streaming. Others we buy on iTunes, which of course is the last resort.
