Watching | Roseanne & Airplane movies
> [(May 29) I cannot condone or support the actions of Roseanne Barr – disgusting!] I don't know why I decided to watch Roseanne. Nostalgia maybe. This show along with Will & Grace and an announcement about Murphy Brown, old is new again, and again, and there is something about it that is comforting.

I also watched a few old episodes of Friends and that always makes me feel good! On the way home from Paris I watched several movies: The Greatest Showman (I couldn't help loving this a la Moulin Rouge); 12 Strong (I am a sucker for a combat movie); and Nostalgia (I didn't love but couldn't stop watching!).
Reading | Discovery
> I've been reading a lot of new books in preparation of the summer edition of my francophile reading list (see my spring edition here) and am absolutely engrossed in Discovery by Leslie Schweitzer Miller. The story has two storylines one that takes place in the Languedoc region of France in 1885 and one that takes place in several locations in 2012 – I know the 2 storylines converge and I can't wait! I also have several non-Frenchie books waiting to be read, I love this time of year when it seems there a lot more books on the market.
Working On | Blog header change
> Still don't love my new blog header and I am working various paths to get to something that I 100% happy with.
Feeling | A bit run down
> Our two weeks in Paris were wonderful, but long days for me. I was out and about in the mornings (including some sunrise shoots with Mr. Misadventutres) and then returned to our apartment by 1 PM to start a full day for my “real” job. Flying home from Paris I got a terrible bug which left me with no energy, then we went to Palm Springs for 5 days, drove home and continued the work week as usual. I'm looking forward to some quiet time this weekend and a few hours to get my dozens of draft blog posts organized!
Planning | Cold eats
> We had 100-degree temps already in April. The weeks we've been in town in May were at 100 or just below. Not the time to be cooking hot meals! So I've been on the hunt for cold soups and substantial salads – following our low carb, high protein diet. If you have some favorite recipes that fit this profile – send them my way!
Loving | Tight niches
> I've always admired bloggers who have a laser-focused niche and I've been thinking about starting a second blog. I want to experiment with a second Instagram feed as well. Then I think I must be a little crazy, but after nearly 10 years of blogging it kind of sounds fun too!
My Favorite Photo | Paris lunch
This photo summarizes how wonderful it was to be back in France enjoying the truly amazing food. Freshly baked baguette (I did enjoy carbs on my vacation); seasonal rabbit pâté with cornichons and regular old red wine that costs under $10 but tastes fabulous. This represents France to me: simple pleasures.
What is CURRENTLY going on with you?
Like it? PIN it!
I love the whole niche thing! I am a book review blogger wanting to do something more. I just can’t decide what! I am thinking maybe something for new homeschoolers (reading focused) or something to encourage moms.
I can’t wait to see what your focus is on the second blog and Instagram feed.
Always fun to do any kind of blog refresh! Cant wait to see it!
100 degree temps? Oh my goodness. I cannot even imagine having temps that high, although I think we may have hit that in NH last summer.
They should also bring back Friends. I never get tired of watching it. Any type of pâte with a baguette is delicious, but hold the pickle for me.
fun post! I loooove The Greatest showman, the soundtrack is just so catchy!!
The Greatest showman soundtrack is so good, currently listening to Rewrite Stars XD
That France meal looks yummy!
I love Roseanne! I love that they have it back on the air again. I agree Friends is such a good show that I could watch it again and again. 🙂
You certainly have been busy! I would love to get into a good book…that isn’t “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” or “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.” 🙂
I would love to be able to make more time for reading this summer. It has always been something that I greatly enjoy but I have found myself not having enough free time to do so on a regular basis.
