Watching | Marseille & Gad Elmaleh
> Okay, yes I'm a francophile so I am always going to gravitate to French shows when I can, but Marseille is one of Netflix's top international series. It takes place in France's second largest city and is a political thriller. I like it, but then again, I am biased. I also loved watching one of my favorite French comedians doing comedy in English. Gad Elmaleh moved to the US last year to challenge himself (believe me, he doesn't have to, he is a HUGE star in France) and to learn English well enough to do a show. His first show was Gad Gone Wild and his most recent one that I saw this past month is American Dream.

Reading | All About Saguaros
> I'm fascinated with these unique cacti only found in the Sonoran desert, so I am reading up on them. Plus I found out I've been totally pronouncing it wrong, I've been saying the “g” where in reality it is: Sa – WAH – ro! Won't be a local until I get the names right! I'm also finishing Paris in Stride, one of the new books I recommended in the spring edition of my francophile library. It arrived just in time for my trip to Paris this weekend.
Working On | Updating Older Content
> This July Misadventures with Andi celebrates its 10-year blogiversary. At 2-3 blog posts a week (and not counting a year or 2 I blogged every day) that's a lot of blog posts! I cleaned up a nice chunk with the site redesign, but that also left a lot of older posts that could use updates, new images, and a little attention.
Feeling | Excited for Paris
> I will be working from Paris for 2 weeks starting next week. It will be our first time renting an Airbnb but I can't wait. It is going to be so great to have a kitchen and live like a Parisian. We don't have a lot of set plans, we are just going to avoid the strike drama and go with the flow.
Planning | A summer escape
> We moved to Phoenix last year on the hottest days of the year – June 19-21 and while I had a brief reprieve during my time at BlogHouse Indy, I remember the heat well. We are plotting some escape routes.
Loving | The table.
> I've always wanted a big farm table for outside. My friends in Sonoma have one in their backyard and every time we went to harvest their grapes and then enjoy a lovely meal outside (here and here), it further reinforced the idea that I wanted a big table for outdoor eating. We finally got our table! My uncle does woodworking as a hobby and his work is amazing, he built us a table using locally harvested wood from an “urban forester” and the result was exactly what we wanted. We've had breakfast outside every morning and even gotten to have lunch on cooler days – we are in love!
My Favorite Photo | One Smart Burro
We had a lot of fun exploring Route 66 a couple of weekends ago. We started in Flagstaff with Oatman as our end game and made a few stops along the way. Oatman was the real treat with is town burros who roam around allowing themselves to be fed and photographed. This guy had the ultimate game plan, he just stood at one of the stands where you could buy burro food!
Bonus | Scottsdale Culinary Festival
I checked out my first local food festival this past weekend when we hit the Scottsdale Culinary Festival. It was a day I said carbs be damned while enjoying several delicious local brews and restaurant bites. You can check out photos on Instagram.
What is CURRENTLY going on with you?
Like it? PIN it!
I hope you have lots of fun in France! :] I’ve always wanted a big farm table too–hopefully someday! Your uncle sounds like an awesome person!!
That table is so gorgeous I would put it in the house as a conversation piece. I have never been to France so I would love to have some travel tips if I go. You are so lucky to live in a hot place I am so tired of the cold.
That Farm table <3
I need to work on cleaning up my old posts. I began a few weeks ago, but then I fell off the wagon. This seems to routinely happen! I need to get back at it.
Oh my gosh, I’m with you on cleaning up older posts. While I’ve only been blogging five years (compared to your ten – rock star!) there are so many photo sets of great dishes that I look back on and think ‘oi. Also, thanks for the tip about Marseille & Gad Elmaleh. My husband and I are currently in the middle of Six Feet Under and are starting to think about which series comes next.
Oh my goodness, living and working in Paris in the spring sounds like a dream! I’ve never been there but it’s on the top of my travel list. I also love your outdoor table . . . I don’t have any outdoor space currently but I can’t wait to buy a house where I can eat dinner outside every day of the summer.
Ooo! I love this post! What a fun thing to do. I love getting to know more about you. I am reading a book by a local author called Scarless. It is the story of how she escaped a fire at her home that claimed the lives of her three siblings. So riveting.
Loving that farm table. We do a lot of backyard entertaining and I have been wanting a farm table for a while now. Having an outdoor space for backyard barbecues was one of the key factors in selecting our home.
Love that table also! I guess we all are working on cleaning up old post, that has been a must do on my list for some time. I’m trying to remove any giveaway rafflecopters I have also. Look like the food festival was fun! Your photo’s are so awesome!
Awww! PARIS!! I cannot wait to hear about your trip. WE went to Paris in 2006. I so want to go again and take our kids. It was our favorite trip ever!
I love that table too! I’m happy you’re reading about our cactus because outside of Sonoran Desert natives, I don’t many educated in saguaros. They are so beautiful with such a wonderful history in Arizona.
I’ve been meaning to do this kind of post, but anyway it’s great to stay updated with you! Enjoy your upcoming trip to Paris. I personally love that place especially at night so do enjoy!
