I love journals. I have a ton of them and always bring one with me when I go on a trip. Even if it is a day trip I will still bring one along. I love to jot down blog post ideas, restaurant thoughts, addresses of note while I am out and about.
I often stick ticket stubs, receipts or post cards into the pages only to find them months or years later. It’s sort of a gift that keeps on giving!
Generally speaking I love moleskins and have them in a million sizes. They even have city books for some of the major cities around the world, like Paris (bien sΓ»r!) which my husband brings on every trip there.
But it is also fun to bring a book with a little more design and so I have those too! I love the one in the photo here by Cracked Designs called The Journey Journal which was featured in Real Simple magazine. It has such a unique cover that you can customize by mapping out your route (if your trip is in the U.S.). The interior pages are adorable as well with a lot of personality!
Of course, my Blissdom blogging bud, Jody also has a really cute travel journal for families that she sells on her blog, The Rambling Family. I have given them away a couple of times here on Misadventures.
What about you? Do you use travel journals? Have you used one in a unique way? Or have a journal related story?

I do not, but my friend has the most beautiful moleskines ever, where he draws his favourite memories: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nathanaelarcher/

I use a moleskin – cliched I know but I love the history of the notebook and the little elastic band that finds your page instantly – it’s the little things!

My life is a continuous journal. I began writing on a mountain peak at the age of 19 and never stopped. During my RTW travels I journaled every day and now I look back on those pages and relive the memories. The best way to capture the essence of an experience, and most of all, the feelings.

Oh my gosh, I’m drooling over that journal!!!!!!!!!!!! What a GREAT giveaway. I usually just write my ideas on whatever is in front of me and then as soon as I can I transfer them to my computer. I do like to put stuff in my books that I bring with me and it’s so much fun finding the stuff years later.

The only thing more fun than capturing memories while on a trip is revisiting the journals months and years later.

I confess that I don’t keep travel journals. But as a journalist, I’m forever taking notes wherever I go. You’ve inspired me, though, to use a dedicated one when I travel that’s a cut above the norm. After all, travel memories are worth saving.

These are lovely journal examples. I have done some travel journaling. I am planning to do some this summer on a two-week trip with my niece. It should be fun.

My husband and I LOVE traveling! We have just returned to the states after doing a 2 year missions term in Macedonia. What a great time we had!! I do like travel journaling. I recently found two of my travel journals from visiting Haiti. It was fun to read excerpts from it!

I don’t do much traveling, and when I do I rarely take the time out to journal about it. I do like to take a book with me though, just in case I need to write something down, or sketch an idea. These days, I’ve been working on the same mid-sized journal/sketchbook/notebook forever, and have little scraps of paper all over the place.. I should really get back into carrying a small book around with me everywhere for all my lists.

I have used a travel journal in the past, but nothing as cute as these! I want to use one for our little family, though! Thanks for the inspiration!

I have never kept a travel journal but I do have a travel photo album. A journal would be a great supplement for that. I love the moleskin journals!

What a cute idea for a journal! The only travel journal I ever did, was when I was 20, and visited Ireland for a few weeks. I wanted to make sure I didn’t forget anything in case I never left the US again.

When i spent a couple months living with a family in India, i used a journal and it’s amazing looking back at it and seeing how much i’ve grown!

I use to journal A LOT, but I’ve gotten out of the habit lately, so I would like to get back into it!

i LOVE moleskins, and if i had more money i would forsake my dollar store comp books and use only moleskins and leather covered journals. however, i do not have money and i must succumb to trying free giveaways π but i digress. as i said, i love moleskin but even more i love trying new things, and would love to have the journey journal (plus it would give me an excuse to get a move on and start a journey for the journal π )

June 30, 2010
Gosh, I would love to win any of the journals you mentioned. I’ve never owned a moleskin, so maybe that’s a good place to start. Thanks for the great giveaway! I’m planning on keeping a journal of my visit to Sweden later in the year. It would come in handy!
June 30, 2010
I love writing lists, notes, ideas. Usually I write them on a scrap piece of paper or a notepad at work, but it would be very convenient to have an actual journal! And a travel journal would be so fun to log all of my trips! Thank you for the entry!

I used to write in a journal all the time for everything, which I loved. Not so much these days. I’d love a travel journal for the next time i visit New York or something!
