One of my favorite days of the week! Another Traveler Tuesday where I get to interview travel bloggers near and far! Today I am super pleased to introduce you to Zach Everson a veteran when it comes to travel writing. Zach is currently working for MapQuest Discover where he is the travel news/travel buzz editor (fun job). Prior to that he was a prolific freelance writer for sites like WSJ, enRoute, Eater and USA Today.
Let’s meet Zach!
When and how did you become a traveler?
Growing up outside of Boston, my family took a lot of road trips, mostly down the East Coast to Washington, D.C. and the Carolinas. And when I was 14, we drove cross-country.
What is travel to you in 10 words or less?
Any time you’ve left home.
What is your favorite mode of transportation and why?
I love the peace and quiet of airplanes.
What do you typically do while traveling by plane?
Write. Flying is a good time to focus without the distractions of email, social media, phone calls, etc.
What is your favorite travel memory involving food?
On a visit to the Rome Cavalieri, I ate at La Pergola, the Italian capital’s only three Michelin star restaurant. It overlooked St. Peter’s.
What is one blogging tip or lesson that you have learned along the way that you can share with my readers?
Be persistent: make it a habit to post daily.
You can keep up with Zach on Twitter and Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and Pinterest and of course by visiting his website, ZachEverson.com or when he posts at work at mapquest.com/travel. Wherever you catch him, I am sure you will enjoy his adventures!
