Traveler Tuesday

I have a sister and growing up in a military family we did plenty of travel together, but we have different styles and I can't imagine traveling with her all the time like Matilda of The Travel Sisters does with her sister – I am super impressed! Matilda has traveled to over 40 countries and all 7 continents. On the blog she writes with her sister, she shares tales and tips from her travels and as well as travel hacking by earning miles and points.

[1] When and how did you become a traveler?
I loved the idea of travel since I was a kid. After a month-long college backpacking trip to Europe, I loved the reality of it too. I was hooked immediately and travel became a top priority.

[2] What kind of traveler do you define yourself as?

I would define myself as an enthusiastic and curious traveler. As far as travel style though I don't fit into just one category – my travels range from budget to luxury and everything in between depending on the destination.

[3] What do you love most about traveling?

I love everything! I enjoy experiencing places I read about in person, meeting new people and the lack of routine.

[4] What do you dislike about traveling?

I don't really dislike anything about traveling- I am just grateful I get to travel.

[5] Why should people travel?

If people are fortunate enough to be able to travel, it is a great education. It will teach you a lot about other cultures but also yourself.

[6] What famous person would you like to travel with?

My sister or husband is my preferred travel buddies since we are travel compatible but if I had to choose someone famous I would choose Waldo- you never know where you'll end up.

[7] Travel essentials – 3 things you always travel with

Smartphone, scarf and antibacterial wipes

[8] If you’re a foodie, what's your favorite food city? Do you have a restaurant recommendation?

My favorite food city is Taipei. I don't have a restaurant recommendation since I prefer to eat at one of the many night markets. The food is cheap, delicious and you can try a little bit of everything.

[9] What's one location on your bucket list?

Hard to pick just one but South Georgia Island and the Arctic are towards the top.

[10] Do you have a piece of advice for bloggers starting out?

It depends on your goals but a good rule of thumb is write about things you are passionate about and learn SEO. Launching and maintaining a blog is more time consuming than you'd think so be persistent and patient.
