J’adore #40 (Map Edition 2)

So even though I am a little road weary these days, that doesn't mean I don't have travel on the brain. That is 24/7 for me, like food, and I am always planning what my next trip or next product for a trip, or item that reminds me of a trip…you get the picture!

This edition of J'adore is travel focused with a heavy sprinkling of map-related items which will surely please Kristin. If this is your first time here (by the way, welcome!) J'adore is a series I do where I curate items that I have seen during my internet travels that appeal to me. Since I actually live a minimalist lifestyle I would never actually buy all of this (but I do buy some of them from time to time), I just do a lot of virtual window shopping!

Some posts on this site contain affiliate links, meaning if you book or buy something through one of these links, I may earn a small commission (at no extra cost to you!). Opinions are always my own and I’ll never promote something I don’t use or believe in. Also as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

This is not the first time that I have found maps of city neighborhoods, they seem to be popping up all over, but I love the stylings and design on the ones from These are Things site. I particularly like the San Francisco one of course but they have some other items that are adorable as well, so check them out!

Besides this fun San Francisco BART stop posters, the Going Underground shop has many of the metro lines around the world including Paris, but you can also customize your own any way you want, great for a wedding, or for putting names of places that may have special meaning to you.

Another visually appealing way to show metro lines is their line maps and the one for Paris is fantastic, the line has so many stops it makes for a good illustration!

You can always wear your favorite metro line on your wrist with one of these beautiful bracelets from Design Hype. Of course, I am partial to the Paris one!

I love the idea of enticing kids to travel early. Opening their minds to the fact that there are differences in peoples and cultures all around the world. So I love these next two items which are great for teaching children about other spots in the world.

Like this Zig Zag City Guide for Rome from a company called Big Cartel. They have started with Rome, and I hope they expand, it is such a great way to learn about an amazing city.

Also, I think these crumpled city maps from NotedCo are fun for kids to play with and take along on a trip without worrying about them messing up the grown-up version. There are several cities available including Paris.

That’s it for this edition of J’adore, a few of my recent favorite finds as I travel the web!

  1. Have you noticed how popular the colors in that map are? They’re everywhere, so much so, I can’t identify anyone thing with those muted shades of blue, burnt orange and yellow. Wild. I see them in infographics and websites all the time.

    Another great J’adore!

    1. @Jen, maybe they are a fad, I know that a certain shade of orange is the Pantone color of the year but I don’t know about the blue….

  2. The bracelet is way cool. Lets you dream about the places you’ve been and the ones you’re longing to get to.

  3. I’m in love with these illustrations! I never knew maps could translate so beautifully! The illustrations would look beautiful as wall art, and the silver cuff is adorable!
