Hair Care Tips: How to Keep Your Hair Looking its Best
Your hair is one of the most important parts of your body. It keeps your head warm, protects your scalp from the sun, and can make you look more attractive. That’s why it is important to take care of your hair and scalp.
The average person has about 100,000+ hairs on their head. Each day, you lose around 100 hairs as part of the natural shedding process. Hair grows from follicles that are located in the dermis (the second layer of skin). The cells in the follicle divide and grow to form the hair shaft. The rate at which hair grows varies from person to person. On average, hair grows around half an inch per month.

Hair is a big part of our appearance, and it's important to take good care of it. These tips will help you do just that!
Tips for taking care of your hair
Wash your hair regularly
Depending on your hair type, you may need to wash it every day or every other day. If you have oily hair, you may need to wash it more often. You need a nutrient-rich shampoo that will be able to get rid of the excess oils, something like L'Oreal Paris Extraordinary Clay Shampoo.
If you have dry hair, you should only wash it a few times a week. Look for products that have Look the words “hydrate” or “repair” on the label. Try Maui Moisture Heal & Hydrate Shampoo, it has a lot of good reviews!
Use a mild shampoo for curly hair and conditioner that won’t strip your hair of its natural oils. Try MIZANI True Textures Cream Cleansing Conditioner to keep your curls healthy.
Don’t over-wash your hair. Washing your hair too often can strip it of its natural oils, which can make it dry and brittle.
Brush your hair gently
Brushing your hair too hard can damage your scalp and pull out your hair. Instead, use a soft-bristled brush and brush your hair from the bottom up to avoid tangles.

Avoid hot showers
Hot water can strip your hair of its natural oils, so try to use lukewarm water instead. And avoid using hot tools like curling irons and blow dryers, which can damage your hair.
Trim your split ends
Regular trims will help keep your hair healthy and prevent split ends from traveling up the hair shaft and damaging your hair.
Use protection from the sun
The sun can damage your hair, so make sure to wear a hat or use a sunscreen made for hair when you’re going to be outside for an extended period of time. Check out Coola Organic Scalp & Hair Sunscreen Mist SPF 30 to protect your hair while out in the sun.
Avoid using harsh chemicals on your hair
If you must use chemical treatments like color or permanents, make sure to follow the directions carefully and only use them as directed. The best thing to do is use professional products or have your stylist do it.
And avoid using heat styling tools too often, as they can damage your hair.
Eat a healthy diet
Eating a healthy diet is important for your overall health, but it’s also important for your hair. Foods that are rich in protein, iron, and omega-3 fatty acids are especially good for your hair. So make sure to include plenty of these foods in your diet. I also use collagen powder which I put in my cereal every morning. Collagen helps hair build proteins, which can result in longer, thicker hair. [I use this one for travel.]
Take supplements
If you’re not getting enough of certain nutrients from your diet, you may need to take supplements. For example, if you’re not getting enough iron, you may need to take an iron supplement. And if you’re not getting enough omega-3 fatty acids, you may need to take a fish oil supplement.
By following these simple tips, you can keep your hair healthy and looking great!

10 Hairstyles That Didn't Make The Cut
Here's a look at some of the most popular hairstyles that should be avoided at all costs.
- The mullet: This '80s style is best left in the past where it belongs. The mullet is basically a short haircut in the front and long in the back, and it just looks weird. It's not flattering on anyone, so just say no to the mullet.
- The bowl cut: This is another '80s style that needs to stay in the past. The bowl cut is a short, blunt haircut that goes around the head like a bowl. It's not a good look for anyone, so avoid it at all costs.
- The rat tail: The rat tail is a hairstyle where the hair is gathered into a tight ponytail at the back of the head, and it just looks Rat tails are best left to rats, so don't try this hairstyle yourself.
- The mullet again: Yes, the mullet makes the list twice. That's because it's just that bad. If you're thinking about getting a mullet, just don't. It's not worth it.
- The poodle cut: This is a style where the hair is cut short all over the head, except for around the face, where it's left long and curly. It's not a flattering look, so avoid it if you can.
- The mohawk: The mohawk is a punk rock hairstyle that involves shaving the sides of the head and leaving a strip of hair down the middle. It's not a good look for anyone, so avoid it if you can.
- The mullet (again): Yes, the mullet makes the list for the third time. That's because it's just that bad. If you're thinking about getting a mullet, just don't. It's not worth it.
