A to Z – Camille of Friday We’re in Love
I found Camille Whiting on Twitter when I was looking for Arizona bloggers and IMMEDIATELY fell in love with her blog, Friday We're in Love. A lot of people ask me, “why don't you celebrate Valentine's Day?” or “why aren't you big on birthdays?” The reason is that Mr. Misadventures and I believe that you shouldn't wait for one day of the year to celebrate love or to give someone a gift – you should do it all the time. Camille's blog celebrates marriage and provides lots of ideas for keeping the love alive, more specifically with lots of date night ideas. She is absolutely adorable. I got to meet her in person recently and she is also smart as a whip and a very positive and generous lady.
Let’s meet Camille!
[1] Favorite thing about where you live in AZ.
There are so many family-friendly areas that make having kids easy and fun while still keeping things big-city feel with so many fun dates to be had and adventures to explore.
[2] Least favorite thing about where you live in AZ.
Scorpions. Why must those things exist? Plus they come out during the hottest time of the year making you question everything about your living situation for a few months.
[4] Favorite place to visit anywhere in the state.
Greer. It's so beautiful with seasonal weather. We love romantic cabin getaways or a family trip to the mountains.
[5] Favorite coffee spot.
I'm not a coffee drinker, but I'm still a huge fan of pastries, so Lux has my heart.
[6] Favorite spot for drinks.
Postinos if I'm feeling classy and having a business meeting. The Soda Shop on a casual day. It's my vice and always a fun place to try something new.
[7] Favorite local hangout.
Tempe Towne Lake. There are so many great dates to do there. You can people watch, rent tandem bikes, paddle boat, paddle board, walk around the lake, or enjoy a picnic dinner.
[8] Favorite breakfast spot.
The Crepe Bar in Tempe. Such amazing food, the atmosphere is so cute, and it's a date spot we never tire of!
[9] Favorite lunch spot.
Backyard Taco. The best street tacos in the land!
[10] Favorite dinner spot.
I can't choose one! If kids are in tow we love Oreganos.
If it's a romantic date for two we love Delux Burger or Postinos.
[11] One thing you always do/spot you always take friends from out of town to do/see.
When it comes to kids, we love to go to Pioneer Park in Mesa. It's free, huge, and truly incredible!
For adults, we love the Desert Botanical Garden. It's romantic, it's uniquely AZ, and we've found people who don't live near it are just in awe of cactus.
[12] How do you like to beat the heat?
Plan a getaway or vacation during the hottest time of the year. We try to spend the 4th in the White Mountains or out of state. There's typically a big vacation at the end of summer when we just can't take being inside any longer.
[13] Lucky question #13, tell me about your blog!
Friday We're in Love started as a project to go on one date a week no matter what to keep our love alive and marriage strong. We share our weekly date ideas and family adventures in hopes to inspire others to get out and date and make memories.
We've added lifestyle content sharing our travel adventures, our infertility journey, recipes, style, and more. But the heart of everything, we do all these things to prep us for our favorite day of the week where we get to enjoy a date night on the town!
Thanks, Camille!
You can keep up with Camille on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and of course on her blog. Wherever you catch her, I am sure you will enjoy her love-filled Arizona adventures!
