J’adore FluidStance Balance Boards
Are you working from home and sitting way too much? Consider switching it up with a balance board. I a great way to get some fluidity into your WFH life. FluidStance has a really great line of balance boards for all types of environments and has a beautiful special edition just in time for Earth Day.
DISCLOSURE: I was gifted all 3 FluidStance products in this story. The Fillup and Slope first appeared in my holiday gift guide and recently the Ocean Blue Level. All opinions about my experiences with these 3 products remain my own.
I know that last year was not optimal, but I feel there was one good thing that came out of it and that was that Mother Earth got a little bit of a breather. Restricted movement and travel meant a lot less pollution in the ozone, as well as a lot fewer people bothering animals! Earth Day is an annual event that takes place on April 22 and has been going strong since the year of my birth, 1970. It is a day of education about environmental issues and millions of people around the world participate. To demonstrate my support I am sharing a favorite product that has been created to support Earth Day or is focused on sustainability and environmental friendliness.
FluidStance Balance Board: The Ocean Blue Level
I am a big fan of FluidStance who [in my opinion] creates beautifully designed ergonomic office accessories and products that are both extremely functional and aesthetically pleasing. The last few months I have been taking a training class every month with a group of people from all across the organization I work at. During one of these sessions as we were having casual conversations while waiting for a lunch break to end, the topic swung around to office set-ups and balance boards. Truth be told I have always discounted them and have not been interested, but I couldn't help myself from being curious after so many people raved about them.
I recently decommissioned my laptop and Apple monitor from being my main personal device (to a Mac mini and LG monitor) but I am using them in the corner of my office as a station where I can go and stand up so that I don't have to be sitting all the time. So when the opportunity to work with FluidStance again presented itself I whole-heartedly agreed to try out their balance board, particularly to help support their sustainability initiatives ahead of Earth Day by promoting their brand new Balance Board called Ocean Blue Level. They have always gone the extra mile to use eco-conscious materials whenever possible, working with local companies, choosing sustainable manufacturing processes, and building products to last. Now with the Ocean Blue Level balance board, with every one sold, FluidStance will plant one tree via American Forests and making a $10 donation to the Waterkeeper Alliance.
So what is this balance board thing all about? FluidStance’s balance boards help fight the remote work/work from home/sitting in an office chair all day lifestyles by increasing your heart rate and energy expenditure without disrupting normal tasks. When you stand on a balance board, your body’s movements help to strengthen and stabilize the core, soothe stiff joints, burn calories and keep you feeling alert.
More important Earth-friendly details:
- This product is made in the U.S.A. (designed and built in California) with die-cast, military-grade aluminum. Every piece of scrap metal is recycled back into the supply chain.
- The powder-coat finish is applied using a near-zero-emission method.
With the Ocean Blue Level balance board from FluidStance, you can be kind to your body and the Earth at the same time!
What are the benefits of a balance board?
So you may be wondering, what are the benefits of a balance board. If you work from home it is a must-have! Not only does it provide an opportunity to improve balance and coordination (to a certain point, I don't think it cures clumsiness, so no fear of this becoming Adventures with Andi anytime soon…) but also it helps to develop stronger lower leg muscles, and increase motor skills and improve posture. When it comes to injuries, it can help prevent them, especially for the ankles, but if you have already injured yourself (oh no, what did you do?) it can help with injury rehabilitation.
Consider adding a balance board to your daily office routine and check out FluidStance, a leader in the field as well as a kind and caring company trying to help you and the planet.
Available at: FluidStance.com for $269. There are a variety of FluidStance balance boards available on Amazon as well.
The Slope
My desk has 2 set-ups. My professional laptop, monitor, video camera, headset, keyboard, and mouse. And my personal set of the same items. I do not mix the 2 worlds. I also like to have my to-do lists in a notebook (I know, so analog!) but I also like to list out the hot things for the day from my notebook. I discovered the Slope and now I can have that hot list in front of me without wasting another piece of paper. It is like a mini whiteboard that fits in front of me. It fits right over my laptop and can hold my pens (which I always lose on my desk) as well. During my day job hours, I write what I need to get done for that day. I may put blog stuff in the corner, but usually, I move the Slope over to my personal laptop side on the weekends when I am working on the blog. Ideally, I would have 2 Slopes and wouldn't have to switch back and forth, but I am happy to have the one!
Available at: Fluidstance website for $59.
The Fillup
This personal water cooler continues to be one of my favorite new products that I received in 2020. There are days when I am in meetings and conference calls all day and barely get a bio break! So it is not always easy to get downstairs to get water. I just fill up the Fillup (you see how they did that?!) and I have my water for the day. My other favorite part is the sleek design. Every part and piece is thought out beautiful. It comes with a ceramic mug that transports me to Japan. Seriously if you know someone working from home who has everything, they don't have THIS!
Where to Buy: Fluidstance website for $139.
How about you? How are you supporting Earth Day this year? Have you seen interesting products and brands that are doing their part to help Mother Earth? Do you use a balance board? Do share!

I have been wondering if I’m too weak and clumsy to use a balance board, but it seems like it something I should try to increase my strength and coordination before it is too late.
I work from home and try to go run/walk every day. Trying to head off the sedentary lifestyle with this board is a great help to so many who sit all day.
I might have to get one of these. I know I need to stand more, and I could use better balance.
We have a balance board and it has helped my son during class. That way he can fidget in his chair and pay attention better
I have to look into getting this for my home.
As I get older my balance definitely struggles. I could use this for my posture too!
I also work from home. I think this balance board could help a lot.
I really need to improve my ergonomics at my desk… I think it is all wrong and would like to arrange something where I have the option of standing sometimes.
That balance board is so cool. This is actually the first time I’ve heard of it. I want one.
Hmm, this is interesting, I sit down a lot working from and now I stand but fluid stance boards sound very interesting.
This is a really neat idea, especially for those of us that have to be at our desk all day long. Maybe I should put this on my Mother’s Day wishlist.
Ive heard good things about balance boards. I totally would love to try one out myself.
This would be great for me. I could use one of these for my work space. I have some products from Fluidstance, but not this one.
Those balance board looks really nice. I like your work space.
I am working from home and it’s such a great idea to introduce something new like the balance boards. Sounds great!
This would be really great for me. My balance has really suffered from an injury.
This sounds so neat! I have foot and back problems, and standing still is miserable. I would love to try one of these!
