A to Z – Lisa of East Valley Moms Blog

A to Z interview series with Arizona bloggers

Some posts on this site contain affiliate links, meaning if you book or buy something through one of these links, I may earn a small commission (at no extra cost to you!). Opinions are always my own and I’ll never promote something I don’t use or believe in.

One thing I noticed right away when I moved to the Phoenix area and began checking out who the local bloggers are is that the Moms are pretty organized! There are several collaborative blogs in the various sections of Phoenix and they are a fantastic source of information…even if you aren’t a Mom like me! One of the founders of the East Valley version, Lisa Glowacka, is an active and vibrant member of her local community and a great ambassador!

Let’s meet Lisa!

A to Z – East Valley Moms Blog

[1] Favorite thing about Phoenix.
I love the variety of landscapes-from the city to the desert to the mountains and the small town feel of the suburbs, there’s no place quite like AZ!

[2] Least favorite thing about Phoenix.
July and August 🙂

[3] What differentiates your area of the Valley of the Sun from all the other parts?
The East Valley is “home” to so many smaller yet huge communities like Chandler, Gilbert and Mesa all offering their unique small town, downtown feel!

[4] Favorite coffee spot in Phoenix.
Blackrock Coffee (4050 S Alma School Rd in Chandler and 5351 S Power Rd in Mesa).

[5] Favorite spot for drinks in Phoenix.
Tough choice! I love any place with a good patio and wine! Any of the Postino locations are great for hanging out with friends.

[6] Favorite local hangout in Phoenix.
The Yard in Tempe (149 S Farmer Ave)! Great for a kids and adults gathering

[7] Favorite breakfast spot in Phoenix.
The Coffee Shop in Agritopia (3000 E Ray Rd, Gilbert).

[8] Favorite lunch spot in Phoenix.
La Grande Orange (4410 N 40th St, Phoenix).

[9] Favorite dinner spot in Phoenix.
Hands down-Chelsea’s Kitchen (5040 N 40th St, Phoenix) – love the food, the atmosphere, and the vibe.

[10] One thing you always do/spot you always take friends from out of town to do/see.
Desert Botanical Garden in the spring and fall.

[11] How do you like to beat the heat?
With kids-hitting up a resort for a staycation or local pool. Without kids-hanging out at one of the fun hotel pools like the W or Hotel Valley Ho.

Thanks Lisa!

It’s been so long since I’ve been to Phoenix, and that was just for a trade show. Never really got to experience the town correctly!

I can agree that July and August are my least favorite parts of living in the Phoenix area too! It’s so hot! But all the splash pads are pretty great.

I will have to hit up one of those resorts so we can go with our kids. I definitely want to get out there sometime.
