Traveler Tuesday – Anjali of Cheerful Trails
Today we are spotlighting Anjali of Cheerful Trails, a travel blogger based in UAE. She's an avid traveler and most importantly (without giving too much away) ANYONE who is a fan of the Fast & Furious series is a friend in my book!
Let’s meet Anjali!
[1] When and how did you become a traveler?
I have always had a traveler in me. When I was a little girl, I used to wait for the summer and winter vacations to come, since this used to be the time when my parents and grandparents would take me for road trips and to some wonderful destinations. Traveling had always been a fascinating experience for me that I looked forward to each year.
[2] What kind of traveler do you define yourself as?
I wouldn’t limit myself to a kind. I am just a traveler, who likes to explore all kinds of places at my own pace.
[3] Which country do you come from/call home?
I feel most connected to Dubai since I have been born and bought up there. My parents still reside in Dubai and so I have been able to regularly travel there.
[4] What do you crave from home when you are traveling?
I crave for the motherly care that I get at home.
[5] Tell us about your blog
My blog Cheerful Trails focuses on providing useful information about destinations. I also share my travel stories, food trails, travel tips, and itineraries to inspire people to travel.
[6] What do you love most about traveling?
Traveling is something that sets me free and takes me away from any worries. I enjoy the excitement and thrill of visiting a new place. Learning about new cultures, discovering some amazing landscapes, overcoming inhibitions and creating new memories is what I seek from traveling.
[7] What do you dislike about traveling?
Traveling long distances through a train or bus. That’s the most tiring part.
[8] How do you prepare for a trip?
I travel with my husband and our plans have mostly been spontaneous. It depends upon the destination itself. If we are visiting a very popular city, we book all our flights, accommodations and sightseeing tickets as early as possible to avail the best deals. We also take note of popular landmarks and hidden treasures of the place we are visiting.
[9] You have won the lottery, now tell us where you want to live.
I would like to live in the US if I won the lottery. It’s a beautiful country and I would explore all the amazing places there.
[10] Travel essentials – 3 things you always travel with.
iPhone, shades and portable battery charger.
[11] What is your favorite article of clothing?
Comfortable shoes
[12] Your single most treasured personal possession.
It has to be my iPhone through which I capture all the beautiful places during our trips.
[13] Do you have a piece of advice for bloggers starting out?
Be consistent, creative and patient.
[14] What are three other blogs that inspire you?
The Blog Abroad
Nomadic Matt
Expert Vagabond
[14] Your favorite travel resource on the web?

I love blogger interviews and finding out a bit more of the person behind the blog, I always crave home comforts when I am away as well x
Sounds like traveling is such a fun way to spend time. I Loved the photos here and learning more.
What a great interview! I also book my flights and accommodations as early as possible to save money.
Those pictures are simply amazing. Thanks for sharing and taking me to your adventure.
I agree on the shoes. Wearing an uncomfortable pair ruins the entire day. Like you, I enjoy learning about new cultures, but more so seeing the breathtaking landscapes in new places.
I hate long travel with buses and trains too. It was very tiring but on the other side, it was a great experience too. You have a chance to see more beautiful spots.
So cool to read about the life of a travel blogger. I’m a mom of toddlers, so my idea of travel is currently going to the grocery store. Great to live vicariously!
It’s nice meeting you, so much fun to learn about the person behind the blog! I too love comfortable shoes!
