Weekly Wanderings #11 – Bryce Canyon

Every week seems to be a little different, which keeps things interesting. We've had some stresses this week. Snow for four days straight, temps below freezing. A photo posted by Andi Fisher (@andi_fisher) on Mar 29, 2016 at 7:36am PDT We dealt with freezing temps before in New Mexico. At night we'd fill our water tanks, disconnect our hose from the park's water source and roll up … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #10 – Bryce Canyon

Where to start? Last weekend I was in Irvine (California) for the WITs Summit, a conference from Wanderful made up primarily of travel bloggers. I got to see my pal Katie as well as meet Christina, Cynthia and Kelly in person. My ExperienceBuick cohort, Lois came as well. It is good to be surrounded by friends who support your efforts, everyone gets each other and what we are trying to … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #9 – Gold Canyon

I'm writing you from Irvine where the 2016 Women in Travel Summit is kicking off tonight.  I am speaking on Sunday, so send me good thoughts! It's great to be around other bloggers in person and I look forward to the opportunity to meet some of my own blogging pals, network and learn.  You are never done learning! Mr. Misadventures and I spent our last week in Arizona running errands and … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #8 – Gold Canyon

What a week! We're into our second week at Gold Canyon with one week left and time is flying. My old team from work, once colleagues, now friends (even though I was boss) because besides being passionate about what we do, we have a lot in common, like food....anyway....they came in from San Francisco to check in on life in the RV and to go to a Spring Training game together. A photo … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #7 – Gold Canyon

Well the first leg of our trip, 6 weeks on the road is over!  And we made it without any issue, unless you count the lack of fresh vegetables as an issue (and I do). We spent three wonderful weeks in Borrego Springs and a little over three weeks in three places in New Mexico: Las Cruces, Santa Fe and Kirtland. On Saturday, we drove from Kirtland to Flagstaff and stayed at a really nice KOA for … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #6 – Kirtland

We left Santa Fe on Sunday and headed to Kirtland (New Mexico) where we've been all week.  We are in the four corners region. The four corners being the spot where Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah meet. There is nothing here. EXCEPT some great badlands called the Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness, an amazing rock formation called Shiprock (which reminds me of Monument Valley) and a national park … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #5 – Santa Fe

What a week! We landed in Santa Fe last Friday and the days have flown by! I got caught up on a lot of blog writing over a couple of days in Las Cruces so I have been out and about more with Mr. Misadventures and I am exhausted, but in a good way! Food, glorious food!  We have a Trader Joe's, two Whole Foods and the Santa Fe Farmer's Market, and we can once again bbq since the lovely RV park we … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #4 – Las Cruces

We left for Santa Fe this morning after staying one week in Las Cruces. We will be in Santa Fe for two weeks and I am going to take advantage of the opportunity to catch-up on some really good restaurant eating! But first Las Cruces. We arrived last Friday after spending the night in a really great KOA in Tucson. Not  a place I would want to spend more than a couple days in, but it was … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #3 – Borrego Springs

Surprise! We're in Las Cruces, New Mexico! Our original plan was to leave for Santa Fe on Sunday, but because of snow that was supposed to be coming through (a huge thing to avoid with RVs) we left on Thursday for Las Cruces staying overnight in Tucson to take a more southern, milder weather route.  We shuffled a few reservations and will spend five days in Las Cruces exploring the famous white … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #2 – Borrego Springs

Yes, it is odd to have rusted dinosaurs randomly placed around a town, but that's what we've got at Borrego Springs! Dinosaurs, saber tooth tigers, wooly mammoths, velociraptors on top of the horses, turtles, camels and bighorn sheep. All created by the late Ricardo Broceda.  Makes for fun photos. During our second week in Borrego Springs and the second week of Project Escape, we have visited … [Read more...]
