Traveler Tuesday – Brianna of Archives of Adventure

Traveler Tuesday Travel Blogger Interview Series

We're back! After re-launching a new season of Traveler Tuesday with Ric of Global Gaz last week, I return to introduce you to another Boghouser I met in Indianapolis in June, Brianna of Archives of Adventure.  In fact, I'm going to acquaint you with a whole slew of travel bloggers from BlogHouse, because honestly, it was one cool collection of peeps!

Brianna focuses on those who “live average lives: Average income. Average career. Average lifestyle.” But let me tell you something, there is nothing average about Brianna! I found her sweet, friendly and enthusiastic about the blogging space. For someone who has “only” been traveling 10 years, she has covered a lot of ground.

Let’s meet travel blogger Brianna!

[1] When and how did you become a traveler?

I became a traveler in 2007 when my family and I moved to Sydney, Australia for a year. Leaving behind the comforts of my home in Michigan and starting life brand new, I learned how incredible and life-changing travel can be. Since then, I continue to make travel a priority in my ordinary life.

[2] What kind of traveler do you define yourself as?
I'm more of a budget traveler, but not to an extreme level. I will happily travel solo or with others. I like to visit places that are less frequently traveled.

[3] What do you love most about traveling?
I love how much travel can teach you. I can look back at every trip I've taken and identify a key lesson that I've taken away.

[4] What do you dislike about traveling?
I get sick or experience some kind of bodily issue every time I travel. I've contracted Zika virus, completely lost my voice, had my fair share of digestive fun, among many other problems. I like to tell people that while I love to travel, my body does not…

[5] Why should people travel?
Travel changes you in so many wonderful ways. You learn new things about not only the world but about yourself. It's just something you have to experience for yourself, in order to understand.

[6] What famous person would you like to travel with?
I'm a big Tom Hanks fan. He'd probably be good fun to hang around with.

[7] What won’t you travel without?
Pepto Bismal! No explanation required.

[8] Travel essentials – 3 things you always travel with.
Pepto Bismal
My iPhone
My comfy elephant pants

[9] If you’re a foodie, what's your favorite food city? Do you have a restaurant recommendation?
I wouldn't really consider myself a hardcore foodie. But I do have to say that I'll plan a trip to New York City just to eat all the foods!

[10] What's one location on your bucket list?
Antarctica has been on my bucket list for years! Someday I'll get there….

[11] Do you have a piece of advice for bloggers starting out?
Be patient and willing to work hard for a successful blog.

  1. What a great interview. So wonderful she can explore the world and get such great experiences while she is young.

  2. I love going to New York City for the food as well! I’m heading there in a couple months but it’s just a short trip so I don’t know how I’m going to narrow down all the restaurants I want to try!

    1. That’s quite the undertaking! My tip- make a list of 3-5 places you KNOW you want to try. And then leave the rest up to fate
…And then also mail me some pizza 😉

  3. Yes, it would be amazing to travel with Tom Hanks! 🙂 This is a great interview, it’s so inspiring to read about people following their dreams!

  4. I like her perspective on why people should travel. I definitely want to travel as much as possible! Budget traveling would open up a lot of possibilities.

  5. Pepto Bismol is LEGIT! This is such a fun article 🙂 Love your style.

  6. Alicia Boisvert says:

Excellent photos! Very good clear photos! Love it

  7. Melanie Burbage ( Payne) says:

Wow! It would be so awesome to travel ! Great pictures as well, looks like you’ve been some pretty awesome places !

  8. kathy downey says:

    Awesome interview,thanks! Love the photos.

  9. I try to be a budget a traveler as well. I have found that a lot of museums and zoos have free days or hours, which makes traveling so much more affordable!

  10. I would love to travel the world! I’d probably be like Brianna and get sick a lot. Pepto can be a life saver sometimes. Antarctica would be an awesome place to visit! Safe travels Brianna.

  11. Jorge Granda says:

Very interesting information and great photos. Brianna is quite the looker, she’s a very pretty girl.

  12. Janella Panchamsingh says:

I think being a traveller is something I wish I did before I had kids, it looks like so much fun

    1. Take your kiddos along! I think travel is more powerful for children, because it opens their eyes to the world during a formative time in their lives.

  13. Kimberly R says:

Thanks for sharing, I love to here a travelers insight. Their must haves when travelling and their tips.

  14. Carrie@thelavenderhytta says:

  17. Neil Hopkinson says:

Travelling the world. What better way to spend your time?

  18. Another kindred spirit! My favorite place is Belgium, too. I noticed that Brianna was standing under the Atomium right away. There are so many other things I have in common with her, too, one of which is carrying Pepto Bismol with me when I travel. I rarely get ill, but better safe than sorry. (Which is why I pack Nyquil, too.)

  19. I had to laugh at the bodily issues section because I can relate. I travel full-time and feel like there is always something cropping up: from colds to stomach issues, to mosquito illnesses, to respiratory infections, etc… hahah but I love travel too much to stop. 🙂

  20. I think all of us who travel very much can relate to the bodily issues section! Pepto Bismol and Tums — good to have them with you. It’s great to see someone who has been able to figure out how to travel full time — so young. Go Brianna!

  21. Brianna was so sweet at Bloghouse. We recently took Pepto out of our travel essentials for certain regions. If you are taking certain travel immunization, active charcoal or Pepto will keep the active ingredients from being absorbed.

    1. Send me info on this Jenn! Do you know immunizations specifically? And is it only when taken at the same time?

  22. Trista Garnett says:

I would love to be able to do traveling like this .

  23. Another inspirational traveller! This is the first time i heard about Pepto Bismal though just googled it 😀

  24. That’s so funny, I never even thought to bring Pepto Bismol with me on a trip–that affects my liquids limit on my carry-on haha. And the Lion King is a great movie! Such a fun interview 🙂

  25. I used to live in NYC and I would totally go back for the food! So many different cuisines and selections there! I agreed with Brianna that travel is a great way to learn about yourself and your partner (if you’re traveling together!)

  26. I had no idea that Brianna lived in Sydney, Australia for a year. So cool! Great to learn about fellow BlogHousers. PS: Brianna, if you read this and want to come to NYC, I’ve got a couch with your name on it 😉

  27. Such a great article! Brianna- I didn’t know you lived in Australia for a year! SOOO lucky. I love that. Also, I’ll go to Antartica with you! I need to go before I’m 30. 🙂

  28. Hell yea to elephant pants! Brianna knows whats up. Except i have to keep replacing mine because they keep ripping at the crotch haha

  29. Leeanne c says:

What a fantastic way to explore the world. Being young and learning about different places. I’m hoping to travel more as the kids are now older.

  30. I don’t travel without my Pepto Bismol, either. LOL! Such an interesting article!

  31. calvin f. says:
