Weekly Wanderings #35 – Yellowstone

[Sorry for the delay! I had a technical issue that prevented me from creating or editing a post. I've had this puppy ready to go, just way of getting out!] We decided to cut our trip to Glacier National Park short (don't worry we were still the ten days) because we really missed the fabulous wildlife that you see practically every hour in Yellowstone. We drove 8.5 hours on Tuesday, it was a … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #34 – Glacier

We've been in West Glacier since last Friday. We survived the holiday weekend in the national park and have been enjoying daily jaunts inside the park, dancing around the weather as best we can. We went from the 90/100's in Missoula to 40/50's in Glacier and I love it! With cold weather the air is fresh and you can bundle up, so much better than sweating in the heat! Mountain weather is … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #33 – Missoula

After the very eventful, and actually totally fun, week in Palouse, we rested for the weekend on the lake in Couer d'Alene.  We also continued to melt away.  We didn't do too much, sorry to say, and now we will need to go back to this part of Idaho to give it a proper visit.  We were just happy to have an RV park with 50 amp power so we could run the A/C on full blast! On Monday we had a nice … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #32 – Palouse

We left Portland (or Hotland as I've dubbed it) on Sunday and we had a very eventful trip full of misadventures. Some days are just like that, the last one being our trip from Phoenix to Dayville. We stopped for gas in Troutdale where we had stayed the previous week because it's a truck friendly area with several fuel stations. We picked Love's because it's our preferred brand and loaded up on … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #31 – Portland

It's not Portland, it's HOTland! We have been boiling to death here. Okay, an exaggeration, we have air-conditioning in the RV, but we want to be out and about in Portland, and the weather hasn't been playing nice! But you know what this city has a lot of? Coffee shops!  We don't have awesome wifi in the RV park (what else is new) so we have been spending hot afternoons working in the coffee … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #30 – Portland

After three weeks in Central Oregon and five weeks on the coast, we are back in civilization! Portland that is! It's been a busy week.  We arrived Monday to rain (always fun for setting up the RV) and took advantage of the "bad" weather to knock some errands off our list.  It's been awhile since we've been in a major city and once we leave Portland we won't be near another until sometime in … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #29 – Oregon Coast, Newport/Garibaldi

On Friday we moved from Newport further north to Garibaldi, just outside of Tillamook. The ten days we spent in Newport were very, very quiet. One highlight was visiting the Rogue Ales Headquarters and I will be writing a post about this amazing brewery and distillery soon. We also visited the aquarium, small but well done. Otherwise, we did a big spring cleaning both inside and … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #28 – Oregon Coast, Newport

After more than six months on the road nothing should surprise me anymore when it comes to RV sites. I tell you, each time we move, its truly an adventure - along with lots of misadventures - as to the quality of the place that will be our home for the week, a couple of weeks, or even a month. No matter how beautiful a site looks on a website, or how many great reviews it gets, the only way to … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #27 – Oregon Coast, Florence

Bandon was really beautiful, the rock formations on the beaches kept Mr. Misadventures entertained for hours. The town has a cool vacation vibe, the weather is absolutely perfect (for the Misadventures family) and the seafood is delectable. We've been eating rock fish and Chinook salmon almost everyday. Dungeness crab just about every other. We missed the whole dungeness season that we normally … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #26 – Oregon Coast, Bandon

This is the Oregon coast in the summer!  It's actually 65 degrees, but the wind makes it a lot colder! We just had a lovely picnic lunch in the sun (tomatoes are back in season!) and decided to walk on the beach to get a little exercise.  This is why I carry and wear layers all the time.  Underneath my jacket hood is a ski cap.  Ten minutes earlier I just had a t-shirt! Don't get me wrong, we … [Read more...]
