Glacier National Park

I have been struggling with writing this post. The whole time we were in Glacier, for eleven days, I pondered about what to say about Glacier National Park. Several people I know, friends and family, who have visited this park say it's their favorite. I can imagine that during the summer the scenery must be stunning. However, for our trip I guess we had just too much weather. Just about every … [Read more...]

Five Things to Do on the Way to Glacier National Park

Before you get to the excitement and wonder of Glacier National Park, there are a few things you can visit and do on the way to the park. That's what I love about slow travel, it has really given Mr. Misadventures and I the ability to widen the ground we cover when visiting a specific spot. I know that most times we are on a timeline, but if you have an extra few hours on your way to or from the … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #34 – Glacier

We've been in West Glacier since last Friday. We survived the holiday weekend in the national park and have been enjoying daily jaunts inside the park, dancing around the weather as best we can. We went from the 90/100's in Missoula to 40/50's in Glacier and I love it! With cold weather the air is fresh and you can bundle up, so much better than sweating in the heat! Mountain weather is … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #33 – Missoula

After the very eventful, and actually totally fun, week in Palouse, we rested for the weekend on the lake in Couer d'Alene.  We also continued to melt away.  We didn't do too much, sorry to say, and now we will need to go back to this part of Idaho to give it a proper visit.  We were just happy to have an RV park with 50 amp power so we could run the A/C on full blast! On Monday we had a nice … [Read more...]

Yellowstone National Park (Part 2)

Our first couple of days in Yellowstone National Park were exciting. Bears and bison and more bears and bison! And babies! But there is a lot more wildlife to see. Like elk. We definitely saw more elk in Grand Teton, so when we spotted them in Yellowstone, we stopped. There were beautiful white pelicans. Isn't this couple adorable? And pronghorn deer. (We saw a lot … [Read more...]

Yellowstone National Park (Part 1)

I didn't prepare for Yellowstone National Park. I actually never really had much interest in visiting. I hate crowds and this park attracts people from all over the world. Even visiting in the off-season, there were more people here than all the other parks we visited this year. Mr. Misadventures had been to Yellowstone before. A four day photography trip last September right in the middle of … [Read more...]

Weekly Wanderings #18 – Yellowstone

Yellowstone has been glorious! My favorite week since we started Project Escape. May is an exceptional time because of all the babies and the post-winter feeding. Usually after about three days of super early risings I call uncle and let Mr. Misadventures go on his own but it is so exciting to see the wildlife that it offers its own form of adrenaline and I haven't been too tired. Although we … [Read more...]
