J’adore – Mary’s Secret Ingredients

J'adore on Misadventures with AndiI am a big fan of local, seasonal artisanal food products.  It is a way of supporting small business, the farming and food community and a wonderful way to explore new edibles!  I was really pleased when Mary’s Secret Ingredients extended an invitation to try out her summer box.

What I love about Mary’s Secret Ingedients is not only does Mary Frances source great products but she also creates and shares recipes and servings tips on her Love – the Secret Ingredient blog.  So if you get something you don’t know what to do with,  Mary is there to help you out!

These also make unique gifts, particularly for the foodie in your life (hint hint).

I got my box last week and have eaten the whole thing already!  It is beautifully packed with a friendly letter from Mary herself and includes a little booklet about all the companies whose products have been included.

Look at my bounty!

Because I have sort of been stuck at home while Jessica recuperates from her surgery, our weekend was rather lazy.  On Sunday we had our usual dimsum for breakfast and Mr. Misadventures was planning on chicken and mushroom risotto for dinner (yes, I know, I am a lucky girl!), but about 3 PM I was getting a little hungry so I decided to create a little apéro with several of the products in my summer box.

I took the quinoa chips from Simply 7 Snacks and served them with the Cilantro & Pineapple salsa from Zukali.  Along with that I served with Sosu Srirachup (not in the box, but something I have been dying to try!) along with Jaxn’s Twice-Baked Potato Stixs. Wash all that down with a cold Bruce Cost Ginger Ale and you have yourself a real party!

Monday morning always comes so fast, so I try to ease into my week as mindfully as possible.  I started off with a kale, blueberry and banana smoothie which I consumed along with my box’s Clean, Lean and Sexy coconut and cashew bar – it was a delicious way to meet my week head on!

This past Tuesday I worked from home (Jessica had her first post-op appointment as well as her stitches removed) so that meant lunch on my own. I shook up my usual mushroom pizza by adding some of the Community Spice Company barbi Q spice rub right into the melting cheese!

I had a wonderful time exploring the culinary delights inside Mary’s Secret Ingredients summer box and I thank her and her team for making their presence known to me!  I have already bought the Autumn and Winter boxes!  Each one is only $25.95!  Hurry and get yours as they do sell out!

One last think I love is the fact that proceeds from every box sold goes to the Feed The Children charity dedicated to ending childhood hunger.

What about you? What do you think you would have done with any of Mary’s [summer] Secret Ingredients?  Do you think it would be fun to get a surprise box every season? Do tell!

DISCLOSURE:  I received the summer box for free, but as always, ALL opinions are my own!

All those things look good, but I’m one of the people who thinks cilantro tastes like soap. I never heard of srirachup before, sounds yummy.
