I know. You almost fell off your chair when you saw this post! It has been quite a long time since the last Saturday Six and it is a reflection of a shifting in my weekly schedule. I have had to be choosy about the things I focus on and the time I spend writing as I have a lot of other commitments to take care of (as does everyone else in the world).
I am just not able to blog every day like I used to, the first three months of this year kicked my ass and I have not been able to get back to a pre-holiday schedule. As it is already the middle of May, I’d have to say this is my new schedule and new tempo and I have begun to come to terms with accepting it.
So many of your posts have come on gone that I am sure that I have missed some really good ones! I have been collecting some here in a draft and wanted to share them even if they aren’t as timely as they once were. And of course, given the fact that it has been nearly six weeks since the last Saturday Six, I am way over 6!
Katie of Domestiphobia has been on a roll. Like many of my other favorite reads, I could share each and every one of her posts here. I love her writing style and humor which sucks me in and keeps me smiling. She is also very insightful illustrated in posts like “why the childless route is the easiest hard path with the most resistance” which even got Huffington Post visibility. I really appreciate that post because of my own life choices. She has stories that inspire me like “this is why proactive feels like a four letter word” where she shares her journey to focus on her blog more. But just when you think she is getting to serious she will knock you to your knees with laughter with posts like “fifty shades of pasta, a parody” which demonstrates how brilliantly funny she is!
I recently had the honor of meeting Jenna of This Is My Happiness in person. I admire her blog and the attention she has on finding exceptional travel experiences. She is very thoughtful in her approach and often provides food for thought not only for travels but for life. Coming on the tails of the Boston tragedy, I really appreciated her post “get out and live.”
While I am “off the market” I can’t help but find this Haven in Paris post “the Parisian male, charming or cheesy?” totally entertaining! Having a French husband at home, I am going to have to go with charming!
I watched every season of No Reservations, pushed through the awkward first season of The Layover only to love the second season immensely and find myself totally hooked on Parts Unknown. I know I lot of people don’t like Anthony Bourdain but I adore him. Here is a blog post he did on ten of his favorites from the ten seasons of No Reservations.
I love red. I am a new fan of Converse (seriously I got my first pair in October and love them!). So it is no surprise that I loved this post from Live and Love Out Loud about her red converse.
No traveler can pass up this post from Capturing La Vita on the “top 25 airplane etiquette rules, don’t fly ever again without them.” If we could just get this in a brochure passed out before any one ever boards a plane that would be fabulous, thanks!
As a social media practitioner by day and blogger every other hour, I am the first to recognize the pressures of social media and how it can take over your life which is why I totally empathized with SF Girl by the Bay when she wrote about her feelings on the topic.
Which is probably why this post “your blog is running your life, these 30 tips can stop it” by Lori Taylor resonated with me also! There is so much content in this post – all helpful and I recommend you check it out, there is something for everyone.
- My blog pal Jen of JenX67 has a beautiful new design and a new attitude since switching from Blogger to WordPress, go check her out! She is also the reason I selected Oklahomans for the Arts for this month’s Comment for a Cause charity. Consider commenting to help raise money.
- This restored Italian retreat in Tuscany is GORGEOUS!
- The food scene in Paris is constantly evolving and here is a great article from the New York Times on the latest changes > The Liberation of Paris
- I love this mash-up “If on a Sunday a Sex and they City,” if you are a fan of the show you’ll like it too.
- I have just discovered Maddie on Things from A Cup of Jo and I am hooked!
That’s it for this week!
How about you? Have any good posts you discovered in your blogosphere journeys that you want to share? How do you discover new blogs?
Consider leaving a comment! For every comment left on Misadventures with Andi during the month of May, I will donate 50 cents to Oklahomans for the Arts.
