(Not quite) Wordless Wednesday #185: What the non-celebs wore at the Oscars

My Oscars day write-up is coming up tomorrow (promise!) but in the meantime I wanted to share some of the dresses worn by the non-celebs on the red carpet. Some beautiful others, well, interesting.

Nancy O’Dell host of Entertainment Tonight poses for the cameras. Although you could call her celeb media I guess, she is not a “star” in the traditional sense.

Wish this one was crisper, love the purple with red hair…

Love the pink socks.  The media had just as much fun taking photos of themselves on the red carpet as I did!

One of the media escorts I worked with throughout the week, they are required to dress up too.

But my favorite was this one from Marchesa (thanks to Kristen of the Kale Project who informed me of the designer!).

  1. It appears that prints are “in”. I’m not crazy about the first three.

  2. Lori Davis says:

I love the blue dress. (Top photo) What a great post!

  3. @Lori, it sure did make her stand out!

  4. @Paula, I am not sure because I didn’t see any actual celebrities wearing any ;-)

  5. Maria Iemma says:

I love the red carpet show better than the Oscars. The one that impressed me the most was Robin Roberts from GMA wearing a beautiful blue velvet dress – she has shown what a real strong woman she is.

  6. Great dresses! I wish I could afford something even close to these!

  7. I like the purple one. So lovely!

  8. Great post,thanks for posting.

  9. I want to see what YOU wore to the Oscars! Personally, the boobilicious dress above is my favorite–ha! Kidding! So tacky.

  10. I love the “Interesting…” one the best. I love her hair color… sending photo to my wife. Her hair is getting long again and I can sometimes get her to try different hair colors.

  11. Some of these I find a lot more appealing than what the high-lighted celebrities wore. I didn’t realize how it’s a ball for everyone involved, not just the nominees and other declared presenters/attendants. I absolutely love the red and cream tulle piece with the detailing in the back! The media escort lady looks lovely in that gorgeous colored flare dress! Thanks for yet again sharing a different perspective on this event!

  12. There was a lot of criticism regarding the color of Jennifer Lawrence dress, it seemed like a pale pink… not a white.

  13. Donna George says:

I like the one with the red detailing on the back

  14. @Donna, pretty right?

  15. @Brenda, it is beautiful no matter what the color.

  16. @Ari, you are welcome, it is so interesting to see what it takes to put on these shows.

  17. @Ben, the hair color is pretty. The dress was a little more risque than what most others were wearing for the evening.

  18. @Kristin, I wore jeans, a Dolby t-shirt and my Converse!

  19. Gotta love LA style lol…. Some of those dresses are GORGEOUS though!!! I went to the Oscars twice and (gasp!) wore the same dress both times. But I am definitely not the type to be “snapped” like these lovely ladies. I am soo glad you had fun. Loved watching your Insta stream!!

  20. MD Kennedy says:

As with the celebs, some are gorgeous and others, “eh.” I do love the look of that Marchesa, but how do you sit in it???

  21. I actually love the dress in the fourth picture, the one with the word “interesting” above it. I love the colours on it and the overall styling, it’s kinda boho but not so crunchy.

  22. I love the ivory dress with red lace.

  23. I love the dress with the red vines on the back of the dress. I love interesting and creative dresses and that one had it and looked pretty too..wonder what the front did (got anymore?)

  24. @Crystal, I will have to look through my photos and see if I have one of the front! If I do I will let you know!

  25. Charlene says:

I personally didn’t like any of the dresses you showed us but I did like some of the dresses the stars wore.

  26. @Charlene, fashion is so subjective, so I completely understand!

  27. How fun! And you? Did I miss a picture of what you were wearing?

  28. carla bonesteel says:

The off-white with the red vines is beautiful! The third one down. I couldn’t pull it off, but she did!

  29. @Carla, I loved the detail in that one!

  30. the one with the red hair look sooo cool for me ^_^

  31. @Olly, I know, I love her hair color!
