I am not a big french fry girl, I will get them with a burger or a steak or mussels, but usually eat one or two and let my dining companion finish the rest! I do like sweet potato fries though from time to time. But I think I finally found a “fry” I can get on board with. Eryngii fries from Skool in San Francisco.
These fried baby Eryngii mushrooms are so meaty that they actually taste like eating little bits of fried chicken. And you know how I feel about fried chicken!
These mushrooms are fairly hard to find, so I feel blessed to have had a chance to experience them.
Now, onto More Tasty Tidbits:
From Cowgirl Chef: Lentils du Puy with poached egg (I love anything with an egg on top!)
From Annie’s Eats: Vegetarian pot pies with feta scallion biscuits
From Not Without Salt: Butterscotch pudding with roasted banana and Salted caramel date loaf
From Lemons and Anchovies: Dungeness crab pasta
From Eat Boutique: Sweet potato pancakes with maple syrup and Salmon carpaccio
From Food and the Fabulous: Roast beef picnic sandwiches
Food Nouveau: Ginger sesame and coriander meatballs
How Sweet It Is: Beer biscuits with spicy meyer lemon butter and Chocolate avocado pudding
How about you? What have you been eating lately?

I’ve never heard of Eryngii mushrooms, but I like oyster mushrooms and all other kinds. Have to see if I can find some.
That looks yummy!
These sound delicious! One of the things I love about traveling is trying regional and national foods
@Cindy, I couldn’t agree more!
Never heard of them and there are not many foods that I have not heard of. Not a mushroom fan though, love the flavor but hate the texture.
I’ve never heard of that type of mushroom. I must find it! Since I’m a seafood eater, not a meat-eater (but I used to be years ago), I’m always on the hunt for things that are meatless. I love mushrooms so this might be something right up my alley to enjoy. I wonder if they ship?
@BrainyPintSizer, there has got to be a spot in NY that serves them or a farmer’s market that sells them. I will try to find out for you!
I love mushrooms…can you give us a recipe for this? LOL
Our latest “kick” is fried oysters!
oh there you go making me hungry all of a sudden
looks yummy !
I don’t like mushrooms, but since you said it tastes like chicken, I’m going to try to find them and see if I like them
I’ve never heard of these but I LOVE mushrooms any way!
