After the holidays we’ve just had the last thing you might be thinking of is food….but I can’t help it. It is a topic that I am insatiable about!
There are still so many foods I haven’t tried yet and I am constantly on the look out for new ones. Sometimes it is just a matter of not getting around to it yet. Like in the case of the famous tres leches cake, a Latin American treat made of butter cake—soaked in three kinds of milk: evaporated milk, condensed milk, and whole milk. I’d never eaten it because usually when I eat at Latin American restaurants by the time I get to dessert I am way too full!
But last month when I traveled as part of the #Trafalgar2012 group participating in a sampling from one their Northern California guided vacations I had the perfect opportunity. Right before our amazing Haight-Ashbury tour, we went to Cha Cha Cha for lunch where we shared several plates, including dessert which afforded me the chance to try out the cake without ordering a whole piece.
It is a really rich dessert, probably something I would order as meal on itself with a strong cup of coffee, but it was tasty and I am really glad I tried it.

Another fabulous round-up! Thanks for including my banana posts.
I’m with you on that. As much as I love the idea of a cake with “three milks,” it’s usually way too sweet for me to eat except for a few bites. Still, I enjoy each and every one of those bites immensely.
I should send the tofu kimchi dumplings to my mom who made a huge batch for Christmas, and then my brother banged up his car and couldn’t come. They’re the only two that like it.
Amazing Round-Up dear … Thanks for sharing you amazing stuff with us. Happy New Year
