Fighting the flu all week which resulted in a lot of sleeping and not so much reading for Saturday Six, but I wanted to share a few stellar posts that I did read.
[1] Its been awhile since I have mentioned the topic of my blog crush, Tory Hoen, it’s because she hasn’t really blogged a lot lately on her own blog Moveable Beast or writing for Haven in Paris, which makes me sad. But gal pal Lindsey of Lost in Cheeseland has come to the rescue by spotlighting Tory on her Franco File Friday which I could not be more thrilled about it! Tory has such a soulful way of writing about Paris, she captures my heart.
[2] Speaking of capturing the heart, I was enthralled by Matt of Landlopers post on finding joy in an unlikely place, the South Africa’s Cape Peninsula. Truth be told traveling to Africa has never appealed to me beyond the normal fantasy of going on safari in Kruger Park, but there is definitely something about the photos in Matt’s posts that have me intrigued.
[3] I think most Americans know that October is breast cancer month, we are used to seeing and hearing about it. Particularly the pink colored products from yogurt to nail polish that come out every year. But I was unaware that September is ovarian cancer month until my good friend Jennifer of JenX67 did a really great post on the topic. I learned a lot that I did not know and I am thankful to her for that.
[4] I am also thankful to her for introducing me to a really heart-warming Before I Die project that started in New Orleans but has not spread around the globe. It is such an amazing concept and I think it is really powerful. Read about it on the Candy Chang blog.
[5] Another powerful post written by JenX67 this week was one on terrorism, something that has been an ever-present part of every Generation X and younger’s life. That is not to say that it has been part of our daily lives as it would be for a person living in the Middle East, but it is something that we have been aware all our lives, with peaks and valleys as terrible tragedies cross our paths. Jen’s commentary on the topic is brilliant as usual.
That’s it for this week!
How about you? Have any good posts you discovered in your blogosphere journeys that you want to share? How do you discover new blogs?

Oh no! Poor you. It’s too early for the flu, isn’t it? I sure hope you feel better soon. Nothing worse than ailing for a week.
@Carolyn, agree it is early, they won’t have flu shots at work until November, so I was surprised too! Thanks for the warm wishes!
