Two weeks ago I had family in town for a family event so I had the opportunity to spend the day taking my parents and one of my aunts and uncles to Healdsburg for the day. I used it as an opportunity to try out a restaurant that had caught my eye, Charlie Palmer’s Dry Creek Kitchen.
They have a great end-of-the-week lunch special they do on Fridays that consists of three courses for $25 dollars…can’t beat that. Add $7 for a glass of local wine and call it a day! We had a nice meal including the lovely corn soup pictured below.
Bellies full we checked out Sunset Magazine’s annual Sunset Idea House which for this year is located in Healdsburg (how convenient!). Beautiful house with great design, it was fun to check out.
No trip to Healdsburg would be complete without visiting my favorite winery, Preston of Dry Creek, an organic winery off of Dry Creek Road (where there are hundreds of wineries!). They even had my favorite wine which they usually sell out of, a Cinsault, such a great surprise.
Not too shabby of a day!

@Nami, no thank you! It looks heavenly and I have passed it onto my hubby who is the cook in the house to give it a try!
Have a great weekend!
Lucky you! I’ve read so many great reviews of this restaurant and this soup looks so interesting and delicious. Nice to know they have weekend specials.
@Sue C., it was great, I want to try dinner now!
