In honor of today being Julia Child’s 100th birthday today’s Wordless Wednesday is of something that was close to her heart…butter!
This particular one, mixed with algae, was served at a wonderful dinner in the restaurant at Le Fort de l’Ocean, a Relais Chateau property just outside of Le Croisic in France (the Brittany region). One of those meals (and butters) I will not soon forget.
I have written about Julia before including “5 Things/Life lessons I learned watching Julie & Julia.” She was a culinary force to be reckoned with and her legacy lives on in the talents of many chefs today who still pay homage to her and her cookbooks.
As Julia used to say at the end of every telecast…”Bon appétit!”

Love this post! I figured that’s what the Google logo was about today. I love all the different ways you can use butter, no better exploited in cuisine than in France. And that masterful honeycomb of yellow deliciousness looks amazing! Great photo!
@Stephanie, thanks!
Did you just say algae? I liveth under a rocketh. Lol!!!
Helllllllllllllloooooo
I loved watching her on PBS.
@Jen, yep, adds a saltiness, so yummy!
