Last week I had the pleasure of having dinner at a wonderful restaurant here in San Francisco which is really close to my office. I wasn’t aware just how close Bar Agricole was and will certainly return to try more of their menu! They have a beautiful terrace and a well-designed restaurant, it is definitely a hidden gem.
I love cheese plates. More and more these days it is my preferred dessert. I am moving away from cloyingly sweet dessert and prefer a hint of sweetness with much more savory. The cheese plate is the perfect choice because you usually have elements that are served with the cheeses as accompaniments (like honey or jam) which allow you to “sweeten” you cheese as much or as little as you like.
My perfect cheese plate include a goat cheese, a blue or roquefort and something in the manchego/parmesan variety with honey and nuts. Bread is optional for me on a cheese plate, I can take it or leave it.
What about you? Do you like cheese? What would your cheese plate look like?

There is a restaurant in the middle of Nowhere, Oklahoma that serves the most divine cheese plate. I can’t even think of the name of it, but I covered it once for Oklahoma Today. I wish I could take you there!
@Jen, don’t tease!
Adore cheese… in fact you have given me a great idea to write about all the French cheeses here… I think the cheese has nor been good for my waistline… but I do love it!… Happy weekend Andi… xv
@Vicki, that would be a great post there are so many cheeses to cover, having the regional POV is helpful!
I’ve honestly never had a cheese plate, but that looks GOOD! Thanks for linking up with Pea of Sweetness for Wordless Wednesday!
Wow. I never really eat for breakfast. Anyway, looks good!
So many cheeses taste good with sweet (but not all) – I’m stating the obvious here.
@Jennie, what are some of your favs?

i like cheese,but thats a lot baby!
Hmmm….move away from sweet desserts?! NEVER!! LOL. While I love cheese, I don’t know if I can do that. I’ve never had a cheese plate but I’d be willing to try one!
I love a good cheese plate. Mine would have a very sharp provolone, parmesan wedge with the rind, fresh bocconcini, tomato, basil and Italian bread.
Oh my! Don’t get me started on cheese! I have only met one cheese in my life that I did not like – STILTON, which was just way to smelly and strong. My favorite cheese plate would probably be a starter rather than a dessert, but it would go something like this: brie, red grapes, tiny mixed green salad with a sweet/tart raspberry dressing. Yum.
And thanks for linking up with DLPom on Wordless Wednesday!
@Dana, funny when I first went to your site, one of your soaps looked like cheese!
