Four Years

Four Year Blogiversary on Misadventures with AndiMisadventures with Andi gave birth as a blog four years ago in 2008. I started it two days after I joined my current company. I had to really. How better to make my introduction to the blog world than by sharing my latest misadventure – wearing dark blue tights with a dark black suit to work (as well as getting lost on the employee shuttle!)?

Frankly my friends and family were getting sick of hearing about them. They had plenty of Misadventures with Andi missives via email while I was living in France and working in Switzerland. They were becoming blase about faux pas and misteps so I needed to find a new audience.

That and the fact that I was taking a creative writing course from UC Berkeley in effort to explore what kind of writer I was, what styles appealed to me, etc.

When I began blogging a huge gap that I didn’t even realize I had was filled up. It was love at first sight and while I sometimes feel the wax and wane of the blogger blues (writer’s block, numbers neurosis…) I am still head over heels.

Four years and 1680 posts could not have happened without YOU. What an amazing assemblage of friends I have! So while it is my blogoversary I wanted to take a moment to recognize a few people that have been around these parts for a very long time.

People who have helped me grow and stretch as a blogger/writer. Whether that is a constant flow of support via comments; an open ear on email, or open arms and bisous from in-real-life meetings, the following people have made a difference in my life over the past four years (in alphabetical order):

Andi Perullo of My Beautiful Adventures

Alisa Bowman of Project Happily Ever After

Clarabela of Just Chick Flicks

Jennifer James of JenX67

Kasia of Love in the City of Lights

Karin of An Alien Parisienne

Kristin Luna of Camels & Chocolate

Lindsey of Lost in Cheeseland

Sean Pete of It’s Not Art

Shauna Callaghan of See My Designs by Shauna

Trust me, there are many others, but I have got to stop somewhere and ten seemed like a good number!

Thanks for the readership, support, friendship, comments and love!

Andi

It’s never brash or even left-field, but it always makes my day. Also, this one, I found while looking for the other one. I was leaning down to get the shot the way I wanted. I needed to get closer so I continued stepping down the side of the hill to do just that. I got the flower in the frame when I heard the distinct sound of a rattle. As in rattlesnake.

Misadventures in Macarons! Mostly because I am entirely in agreement with you, give me a croissant any day (or nearly ANYTHING else!). I don’t like the texture, the flavor (especially the ones that come from a science lab–ugh!) the overly sweet grossness. They are not for me. Everyone keeps telling me it is the perfect thing to make with leftover egg whites and I vehemently disagree, why waste good egg whites?

And Asian foods are this Polack’s favorites!
