When Eden Fantasys reached out to me to do an advertorial post on their behalf, I have to say my first thought was to hit the delete button.
Instead I let the email sit in my mailbox for a few days and I thought about it. Representatives from this adult toy giant have been at nearly every blogging conference that I have attended.
They been really dynamic and fun people who are actively engaged in the online (and blogging) community and I decided to show them some support.
That is not to say that this blog is changing its branding to become a sex blog, rather I decided to take a moment to write about that fact that intimacy and sex is a natural part of everyone’s life even the life of frequent travelers. Those who travel the road for long periods of time solo have a particular set of constraints around this topic, but for a couple, applying a little romance on the road can be a fun part of any vacation or trip. And while my other blogging pals Alisa, Deliriously Divine and Anne-Fitten are far more comfortable writing about sex toys, adult toys and what to do with them, that doesn’t mean I can’t!
How to Romance on the Road
Taking a trip, whether it is for a weekend or a week, gets you out of your routine. No kids (if you have them); no pets (unless you take them); and no bosses. It is a great time for a couple to focus on each other, to have deeper conversations than the “did you take the trash out?” variety. It is an opportunity to reconnect in a relaxed environment.
Adding a little romance could be as simple as packing an intimacy kit that helps you set the mood or as elaborate as buying some new lingerie to replace that t-shirt and sweats your spouse normally sees you in…to turning yourself into the French maid that performs that nightly turn down service!
Use your trip to rediscover your significant other and create an atmosphere of fun with things like games or set the mood with a more sultry tone with candles and or massages which can be a wonderful treat after a day of flying or driving.
The point is that while traveling to and visiting a new place is amazing. New food, new cultures, new sites. Don’t forget to appreciate the person that you are doing that traveling with! Use your trip as an excuse to date again, to peel back the layers of your busy lives and find the person you started your life as a couple with. I know that sometimes it isn’t easy, but a little effort goes a long way.
