Well I am starting to see the light. There will be posts! Proof: here is my Saturday Six! Yes, yes. I know it is Monday, but it means I got a chance to catch up on blog reading and soon I will be catching up on blog posting, including…wait for it….vacation posts! Thus far I have only teased with these: Relais Chateau Hotel Brittany and Chateau Richeux Redux, but more will get written next weekend because I will be alone (mom-in-law back home in France and hubby on a biz trip), so stay tuned!
So without further delay, here are my picks for Saturday Six (I should note that these posts are from anytime within the last three weeks and not necessarily this week):
I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying Kristin of Camels & Chocolates Great American Road Trip posts. Kristin and her husband are traveling through the Western pat of the U.S. in an RV, something Mr. Misadventures and I have wanted to do for awhile. Her posts are fun, full of good info and entertaining. I am watching her progress closely now and can’t wait to see how they finish up.
I desperately wanted to see Midnight In Paris when we were in Paris, but we selected La Conquête instead because we knew we could see Midnight in Paris in the U.S. and it would be a long wait before we could see the other. I have seen good reviews and bad reviews so I don’t know what to think. I am not a huge fan of Woody Allen, so I may just wait until it comes out on video. One thing for certain, I think you have to have a light-hearted approach, knowing there are going to be a lot of stereotypes, but that it will likely be a cute story. And this exactly the approach that my blog crush, Tory Hoen (who writes often on Haven In Paris) has suggested, and is likely the approach I will take.
The French (and Italians) have mastered eating, I don’t think there are many argument there. I am a believer in that statement. However, lucky you, you don’t have to be French to eat like Frenchman. There are people to help you there. One of them being Ann Mah who will soon be publishing a book on that very subject. In the meantime, I love her photo essay on the topic.
I love traveling and discovering new places. However sometimes you visit a new place and you don’t like it. Then what? Well if you are Christine of Almost Fearless, after admitting “I don’t like every place we visit” you may give it a second chance.” It has happened to me before and it’s always a good lesson to not close yourself to a place or experience if it doesn’t work out the first time.
I could not decide between two posts from Spudballoo so in the end I present them both! As I mentioned in yesterday’s Reverb June’11 post, my blog and the blogging community means so much to me, but when I read “without the internet,” I realized it was much more than that. This thing we call the world wide web has had such a profound effect on my life and I am sure if you thought about it you’d realize it has on yours as well.
When I saw the Holstee Manifesto on Pinterest it was love at first site. I included it in J’adore #15 and have stared at its pin on my pinboard, but I had not thought about buying it until Spudballoo mentioned it nor had I given it more thought about why I like it, I just do. Her post “what is your passion” has made me stop and think about it a lot the past couple of days.
I am completely in love with this idea I saw on Julochka’s blog Moments of Perfect Clarity. She is painting her gardens snails and I think it is adorable! Looks like she will have a whole collection soon!
- I neglected to choose and announce the winners of my Savvy Auntie book giveaway! There were 25 entries and the 4 winners are: #22 – Michelle from Atelier A&D; #23 – Flo (no url): #19 – Tomi from Three Boys and an Old Lady; and #10 – Liza (no url).
- I know I just got back from Paris, but who would turn down going AGAIN? Not me! Jordan of Oh Happy Day is giving away a trip for 7 days in Paris and I am participating and I wanted to share this info with you, just in case you might want a chance to go to!
- I want to wish my dear blogging friend Kasia and her Italian the best of luck in her new life as a madam. She got married this past Saturday in the Cinque Terre region of Italy, you could not ask for a more perfect setting.
That’s it for this week, next week’s Saturday Six will hopefully be on Saturday!
