When you packed your bags for your trip you weren’t expecting rain. Now those pair of shoes you need to slip into your suitcase are a little worse for wear.
No worries, just simply grab the free shower cap from the bathroom and use it to keep the rest of your suitcase contents clean. You may not always have a plastic bag with you, or an extra ziploc bag, but nearly all hotels provide a shower cap!
How about you? Have you ever discovered a handy-dandy travel tool by accident?

I am doing some virtual traveling today as a guest-poster at Just Chick Flicks, check out what I have to say about Water for Elephants: A Beautiful Love Story.

Ooooh what a great idea! I don’t think I have one ‘by accident’ but my best travel tip for families travelling by plane is to split up everyone’s stuff across all the bags so if one goes missing, everyone will have ‘enough’ to get by. Also, if arriving late with children…pack PJs, cuddly toys, bathstuff on the top…no rooting around for it.

What a wonderful tip! Thanks for sharing!
@CJ, glad you like it!
@Spudballoo, that is a good one!
Brilliant!
Best. Tip. Ever.
@Alisa, thanks!
@AndiP, I know huh? I will never look at shower caps as useless again!
What a great idea for the shower cap. I love to mix the sugar packets with the hotel conditioner or lotion for an instant body scrub. I always feel gross after a long flight, and the scrub does the trick everytime.
Water for Elephants looks so good. I’ll check out your write up next.

@Michelle, Wow! I never heard of that, how great! Love that tip!
What a brilliant idea! I love it!
@Loulou, merci, I thought it was clever when I saw it!
Love this idea! Thanks for stopping by my hop today.
Simply brilliant! I’ve recently taken to taking the shower caps with me, because you never know when they will come in handy…but I have never thought of this use before, great idea!
@TheFashionableTraveler, it is simple and very cool!
That’s a fantastic idea.
And I love Michelle’s too!
@Amy, I know, I would have never thought about it without seeing that photo!
This is a great idea, I live in FL, so even if I don’t use my hotel shower caps, I’ll def keep them and put them in my car for a moment like this, we get a lot of rainy days. I love your travel tips!
@Vera, great idea, I hadn’t thought of using them for non-travel purposes, but that makes sense!
