One of the love locks on Le Pont des Arts. I took a ton of photos while in Paris and spent quite awhile reading many of the locks, they are fascinating!
I try not to be a typical American, but my American business-sense got my wondering why some enterprising person had started selling locks and markers at either end of the bridge for people who were unaware of unprepared to leave their own – they could make a fortune!
Also, funny little side note, I am not sure if you can see it in the photo but at the top of the lock where the rust is there is an engraved word…”denied.” I hope that the person who left this lock won’t be denied their wish to return to Paris
If you want a little history of the bridge go check it out this post from Karin from An Alien Parisienne.
Also, winners for Aaron Pogue’s Gods Tomorrow book giveaway: I had 12 commenters and Random.org chose #7 (liza) and #9 (JulieB) – congrats!
If you did not win, please go and buy it, If you like thrillers I HIGHLY recommend this book! You can buy the paperback on Amazon, as well as the ebook on Kindle
or if you have another ereader you can get it on Lulu and if you don’t like Amazon it is available at Barnes & Noble or Goodreads.com as well.

They city of Paris keeps threatening to remove all the locks yet everytime I go by, they’re still going strong!
Looooooove this photo!!!
@Lindsey, I know they clean them out from time to time, it is an interesting dilemma.
