I did not have time to read many blogs, but had started a list for #26 before my cold took me down for the count. So here they are:
Shannon of Je ne sais quio wrote on a topic that is dear to my heart. Love for Paris. For some, the city can become an obsession, something that Tory at Moveable Beast also wrote about when once again Paris broke her heart. Shannon shared her thoughts on the topic and provided a list of other bloggers who blog about Paris, people you can visit to feed your (or my) obsession should you happen to be having a love affair with the city of lights.
There have been many reviews of Sex and The City 2. Many hating it. I enjoyed it in many ways, didn’t like it for many as well. Of all the reviews I’ve read, I appreciated Garance Dore’s the most. In “Not Much Sex, even less City” she talked about the woman over 40 aspect of the film which I found interesting. I liked how she closed her post:
It’s sad and it’s fun, this never ending battle to be perfect. Sex and the City 2 definitely paid homage to that, and for that reason alone, I’m willing not to toss the film in the trash. And I even hope there’ll be a third.
I loved “How to be sexy” by Kelly Diels, who writes on Cleavage. Being sexy is far more than physical beauty, it is about confidence and how you make others feel as well. Her “super sexy secret:” Be the person who makes other people feel comfortable, and you will be a magnet.
Agnes is in Pakistan. It is her 13th trip. She is drawn to it in a manner that is unexplainable to her, in a way that is difficult for her to relate to others. She tries in her post “Silent hopes, dusty prayers” and it is just beautiful.
I am a big fan of Anthony Bourdain. I love No Reservations, not for the travel, there are a million food travel shows that you can watch, but for his style, his character, his talented way with words. I think he is pretty witty and I like his no apology way of life. He has a new book out, I know I will eventually read it, but it is fun to watch the various posts about him and his book. There are those like Pink Frenchy who seem to be of the same opinion as me. While others like Christine are fans of Tony, but not his book. Having read an excerpt provided by the Guardian where he expounds on his hatred of fast food, I have to say I am looking forward to checking his new book out.
This last entry is not about a specific blog post, but rather two new blogs of note. One if Chris Brogan’s new travel blog called Man on the Go. I can’t think of anyone more qualified to talk about travel…the man is a road warrior! The second is Paris by Mouth, a collaborative blog about food in Paris and it is awesome! Love the daily food porn entry!
Well that’s it for the week, see you next Saturday!
P.S. Don’t forget you have until Tuesday to enter a comment for a chance to win a travel scale.
